SS and GM my pessimism about Taylor is just intuition I'll admit. I think we saw offenses target him last year in the running game and the theme will pick up where it left off especially if he's playing at WLB behind AC (not a great run-stopper either). Teams will just pound that side of the defense and why wouldn't Taylor start to reason with himself 1) at the end of my career do I really want to take this kind of pounding for a team that means little to me 2) one serious injury could affect the rest of my life which i have big plans for 3) i'm gonna get paid huge money from Danny and Vinny regardless. For clarity let me say i'm not pooing on Taylor... i'm saying people make decisions within the framework of opportunities and constraints they face and rationally I wouldn't be surprised if he mails it in.
... lastly you know hoping Taylor plays his guts out directly contradicts one of the most successful, savvy, and shrewd football minds in the league. I don't think i'm really on an island here...
Edit: I mean the Tuna if it ain't obvious :)

I think if JT play WLB, he wouldn't be lining up behind Carter. Taylor could have easily completely mailed it in and called himself out for the year last year if he didn't care. Or he could have retired before he was even traded.

Who will he play behind?

I guess it'd be Evans right now.

I'm sad to see him go. He's played some outstanding football, and whenever he spanked the ref after getting that sack on Romo in 2005 (now that i think about it, was it romo or bledsoe?) he earned a place in my heart.
I wish him the best.
Can we clarify this cuz i think everyone means short. Right? Blades is the heaviest LB on the squad now he's like an f'ing bowling ball w/ legs. He's short though.
Yeah I think the size thing is a little overblown. He's listed at 242.

Let me see if I'm getting this right. We cut Washington because of injuries the last couple of years and he cost around 6mil. We replace him with a DE with nowhere near the experience at LB, who was injured last year and cost us 8.5 mil. Am I getting this right so far? MW is 31. JT is 36? JT had a bad year because of injury. Marcus had a bad year because of..........injury? And this is better because.....? And by the way. I've NEVER seen Marcus mail it in either.
I don't see anyone from the Skins saying that JT is being penciled in as a starter at LB. He could very easily end up being cut.

Yeah, let's just be clear that Taylor to LB (and weakside, not strongside) is just one of many options that's being explored. Like Matty said he could be cut, or he could stay at DE. No one knows right now.

Well I hope not or I may start believing Vinny is keeping him here to save face. To start a guy who has very little experience at LB and underperformed last year due to injury, at least as far as we know that was the reason, and who also makes more money than the guy he replaced would be ridiculous. That would sound like we're just trying to find a spot for this guy to me. I have nothing against JT and I realize I'm still a little pissed about MW, but I could see no other reason for doing this. We're talking about gaining cap space and then thinking of paying a guy 8.5 mil to play a position he played a little at Miami? Hopefully it stays just a thought with the FO.
