Well what ever DirtyLandry has to say about it, I disagree;)
Hey what can I say? I'm a polemicist. Sometimes this site gets a little too friendly and steers clear of heavy conversation and debate. I like to mix it up, and on that note... cheers! :food-smil

What do you all think about obtaining Channing Crowder from the fins? We could probably get him for around 1 mil per year, and he's relatively young. He seems like a solid, not-too-flashy guy who gets the job done. I suppose he's more suited for inside linebacker, but I think he'd do fine as a replacement for marcus. Or have him duke it out with blades and/or a rookie. We definitely need more youth/depth at linebacker and I think he'd be a pretty good addition.

Crowder is good and he's also young. He can play inside or out. The only thing that makes me wonder about him is why is Parcells willing to let him walk?

He isn't only one, he's letting others walking such as Yeremiah (sp?) Bell and Andre Goodman and two more others I believe..

Could be just trying to get his "own" guys in there I guess.

Crowder also isn't the sharpest tool in the shed....
Orakpo is slated to be a 4-3 OLB, isn't he? I don't think he'll mesh well with our coverage schemes. I mean, how often do our LBs blitz. That would be just wasting his abilities. Curry from WF is another point all together. I'm fine taking LBs early, but they need to be a great fit for the system. That said, Curry will be gone before our 13th pick.

Sounds like Vinny and the FO are taking a serious look at Orakpo to replace Marcus.
Washington Times - Redskins keen on Orakpo (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/22/redskins-keen-on-orakpo/)
I think he's a terrible choice @ 13, not high on taking LBs at the top of the draft anyway but this kid has missed time in the last two seasons from knee injury. Just not a smart choice IMO...
The more I hear people from the Redskin front office talk I think either a) they're flat out lying or at the very least misdirecting or b)they think they can get a solid LB in the 2nd (if they trade in) or 3rd round. They seem to like the depth at LB in this draft.

it does seem rather foolish that the front office would let people know their preference.....

Option A - you cant beleive anything anyone says this time of year.

Yeah but one thing I've learned is that sometimes people get so jaded and think they're being flat out lied to all the time that they completely miss when the truth is being told directly to them
