SBXVII 02-17-2009, 02:26 PM he doesnt even look that big. but just say no to a project. our picks have to be to play. Good luck with that thought. Your talking about the Skins actually playing a Rookie. Heyer got in cause of injuries. Thomas and Kelly barely got in and only cause they wanted to have a tall threat. Other teams picked up on the fact we were not throwing to them so they doubled Moss. Horton got in because of talent alone which is like 1 out of every 8-10 drafts. Don't get me wrong I'm on the youth bandwagon cause they are usually heathier and are quicker to heal. Plus on D it's easier to stick someone in and say this is your job, watch your lane or simply go after the QB, cover this guy. But if you talking offense, I have a hard time immagining any new Rookie O-lineman getting to play unless he had an outstanding O-line coach in college teaching all the NFL mechanics. Again Heyer got lucky due to injuries. Daseal 02-17-2009, 03:06 PM Building through the draft involves patience. Especially when seeing guys on the field. Some positions transition better than others. For instance, if we were going after a running back -- I would expect a rookie to be ready to go. However, QBs, WRs, CBs, etc typically have steep learning curves. Anyone we draft I expect them to sit on the bench for at least a year, sometimes more. They may get in later as they pick up scheme and system. Or as we have a less than healthy team. But part of the problem with building through the draft is botht the team and its fans have to be very very patient to let players develop. KLHJ2 02-17-2009, 04:19 PM Now if only we can get the rules changed so that we can have DT's challenge each other to vertical jumps out of the pool. If the winner gets 6 points then we may have something there. Nflnick11 02-17-2009, 08:53 PM When I evaluated football talent I look at is he a good football player not at the bench presses, squats, pool jumps etc. But maybe for a 5-6round pick I'd get him SKINSnCANES 02-20-2009, 09:23 AM Ive been reading about this guy and did a forum search, and it doesnt surprise me one bit that Daseal beat me to the punch! Why does everyone assume he is just an athelete? He lead EVERYONE with 22 tackles for loss last year. Id be VERY surprised if he was around for our third round pick and was going to propose that if we trade down in the first and get a second that we hope hes available there. This guys stock is goign to go up and we need a big physical presence on the so bad. I also agree with daseal about giving players time to grow and learn the game. But lets be honest here, how hard would it be to earn a starting spot on our defensive line? Our two DTs behind Griffin have 6.5 sacks combined in the last four years... 53Fan 02-22-2009, 02:22 AM Is this guy expected to be drafted? The Goat 02-22-2009, 02:29 AM I'd take Sidbury way before this guy. dirthogs311 02-22-2009, 05:59 AM umm pretty sure the pool thing is in reverse, clever idea though. SKINSnCANES 02-22-2009, 12:15 PM umm pretty sure the pool thing is in reverse, clever idea though. nah its not in reverse, watch it in reverse by sliding the bar backwards. The splash wouldnt be there if it was just done in reverse |
