DeAngelo Hall has a relatively new agent, who I also mentioned recently is Andre Smith's agent, and this guy apparently is extremely methodical and kind of raw. But I think SS33 mentioned that he plays ball with the guy and he's pretty nice so I don't think he's trying to hoodwink anyone or be dishonest, just trying to take care of his clients.
I didn't know Alvin Keels was Hall's agent also. He's a younger guy (early 30s) and has been on his own, not from one of the mega-agencies. I can tell you he's a straight up guy, not a Rosenhaus-type.

at this point, i would be shocked if we are able to keep Hall. As ive said before, his likely destination is new england. we should have signed him a month ago when he could have been had fairly cheap.

I think that Hall would be better taking a deal here because he knows he can work in this system . The last thing his career needs is another Oakland .

Lets say he signs a $50 mil contract here, he will get a chunk of that upfront but is also likely to see every penny of that deal .

He signs somewhere like NE dis deal will be incentive loaded and IF he struggles in thir system it doesn't matter if he was offer a $60 deal he would be lucky to see a fraction of that .

Yes he restored his reputation somewhat last year in Washington but he was in a backfield with an up and coming safty (Landry), and established top CB (Springs) and one of the top 10 young CBs in the game (Rogers) ...if he goes somewhere he has to do it all himself then more questions get raised .

I think one thing holding up the deal is the fact Hall is using 2 agents . Once Hall gets done we will move to release Springs which opens up the cap room to address the lines. .

As the top corner available, hall is most certainly out of our price range.

Heres an interesting article on some of the other cornes available.

Free Agency Preview (Cornerbacks): Why the Redskins shouldn't pay DeAngelo Hall the big bucks - Hog Heaven (http://redskinshogheaven.com/2009/02/free-agency-preview-cornerbacks-why-the-redskins-shouldnt-pay-deangelo-hall-the-big-bucks.html)

I think Hall is grossly underrated there. I'd give him something around 85; and he has the potential to go a little higher, but the rest of the guys are more or less comparable. McFadden, Foxworth, and Bodden could all likely be had for probably 80% (rough estimate) of what Hall will make elsewhere.

If we end up landing Haynesworth, we could just fine with one of them, assuming we also commit to extending Rogers long-term.

If we dont land haynesworth, id pay the premium to get Hall, sign a corner like Buchannon or Bly, and then trade Rogers for a high 2nd rounder.

I am all of the sudden feeling a lot of doubt that Hall is in our future. If the FO was set on him i think we'd have seen to things happen... 1) Springs cut 2) Hall signed before FA begins (cuz BHA is almost certainly right that his value will go way up after midnight tonight). I think this is a huge bummer man. Hall is a playmaker, much younger than Springs and a bit younger than Smoot and Los. Worst of all it looked like we could have got him for significantly less than what NE or some other franchise is going to pay him if the rumors a few weeks ago were true... we'll see.

foxworth is a good player and probably wont make stupid money. that might be a better way to go if this deal isn't happening.
