Another thing that's funny is not one single peep has come from inside the Redskins that even hints at anything resembling an open QB competition in training camp. Not one. Anyone who says anything about JC not getting an extension yet knows little about the cap/CBA situation heading into 2010.

Jason was the guy going into last season, and Zorn has reinforced as much heading into this coming season. There's no competition for the starting job. If anything, it will be interesting to see if Brennan can overtake Collins for the role of #1 Clipboard Holder.

I'm not so sure about that. Let see how things play out in training camp.

I'd bet nearly anything to say he's the #3 QB coming out of camp.

And most people who repeat this same old mantra always ignore Zorn's criticism of Campbell's late season play when he said that Campbell was moving too quickly through his reads and missing opportunities.

This board would be so much more enjoyable and have more substance in their threads if fans would accept 3 simple truths:
1. Jason Campbell is unquestionably our QB going into the 2009 season. There will be no camp competition, nor should there be. He's going to get AT LEAST 10 games without any risk of losing his position.
2. JC and JZ are linked at the hip. If Campbell succeeds, the team succeeds and Zorn sticks around. If Campbell doesn't develop and the team struggles or is worse than this year then Zorn and Campbell will both be gone in '10. By this time next year we will know without question if JC is our QB of the future or not.
3. Colt Brennan was drafted to be a long term project and likely a career backup. He put up sick numbers in college and lit up some UPS drivers, but anyone who knows anything about football could see that even in his 'highlights' in the preseason many of his throws would have been picked or gotten his WR killed against NFL starters. Think Shane Matthews/Danny Wuerffel. Seriously. That's who he is in the NFL.

I've never heard zorn say that and I watched him on NBC all the time...still he was making mistakes during the 2nd half of the season and is a major factor as to why we slumped the second half of the season

Boy, last season worked out wonderful for Brian Stewart and his incredible powers of observation.

Very true, but A) it's not like he's the only defensive coordinator who knows about JC's reads and B) last time I checked, the cowboys were still alive in the playoff hunt in the last week of the season wereas we were ruled out by week 15...this will be the year we see how good Campbell really is

Don't forget that the Cowboys' expectations were very high at the beginning of the season, and were considered a SB contender; whereas the Redskins were not expected to do as well as they did.

Campbell is indefinitely our starer this season. 50-50 he's here for more than one year. The cult of colt is strong damn right because Campbell hasn't convinced us he can do anything. He can be a QB who doesn't throw ints when hes got the best RB in the league that doesn't mean this guy should stay around.

Question is, would El throw down the field or constantly throw across it like he runs?

I say bring back Jay Schrader!HAHA

Nothing but screens...... and an occasional downfield pass to Cooley. :)

Todd Collins woulda done better late in the season. Problem is he isn't young enough to take the beating that the old OL relinquishes!

Ya well we did meet other peoples expectations of us finishing last in the east... It's not about how you do the first half the season it's how you do the whole season

JC sucks, he's the worst in the NFL. Our Owner and our GM are also among the worst in the NFL. No I take that back. That's not a fair statement. Our Owner and GM are the worst in the NFL. Also Zorn is the worst coach in the NFL he admitted that himself. He went 8-8 his first year. I expected at least 14-2. Or better. Jason Taylor he sucks. It doesn't matter if he was hurt he should play hurt and make the pro bowl. Moss can't get open. Rogers has no hands and Hall is a trouble maker. I wish Jerry Jones was our owner. And Wade was our HC. And Romo was our QB. If Colt isn't our starter in 09 I'm becoming a Cowboys fan.
