Remember, if no cba is in place, JC becomes a restricted FA, he may hold out, but he probably will be back.

you think the FO wants him back? they tried to trade him when he was under contract, what makes you think they will keep him now that he can leave on his own?

we would have to sign the tender on JC in the first place... We are going to get an offensive minded coach and he will have the choice to bring in the QB that he likes because Vinny will be fired.

I think they put a 3rd round tender on him, if another team wants him they let him go, otherwise he stays. He can't just leave on his own if he is a restricted free agent.

Anyone else interested in promoting Andre Woodson from the practice squad? I liked him coming out of college but word from the Giants was he looked good in practice but lost sometimes in the preseason games. He had a 2nd round grade in early draft talk but had a poor combine and slipped to the 6th round. If Campbell keeps taking a beating he's not gonna last and we've seen what Todd can do. Should we get the youngster ready in case he's needed?

I agree with this, however I would prefer for us to draft a LT in 1st round and then draft a QB in 2nd round (although my ideal is to draft offense linemen in first three drafts, 1st, 2nd, and 4th) but it is a fact that we need a QB.. I have always believed in Campbell, but just like some, my patience is wearing out thin now.. To be in win-win situation, we need to resign Campbell to maybe 1 or 2 years, and find a QB to compete for #1 spot..

2nd Round QB's have a horrible track record this past decade. If you want a QB in this league you either pick someone in the first or you hope like hell a late round guy pans out. The only 2nd round QB's that are succeeding in the league right now are Brett Farve (selected in 1992) and Drew Brees (Selected 32nd overall which today would be a 1st round pick).

Most of the time you see guys like Drew Stanton, Marques Tuiasosopo, Kevin Kolb, Kellen Clemons, Tarvaris Jackson, and Brian Brohm. Chad Henne might pan out but 2nd round QB's are even harder to turn into starters. Quincy Carter was also decent but Dallas couldn't wait to get rid of him after he failed a drug test and he never caught on again.

Anyway people can say what they want about first round QB's by they pan out a lot more frequently then their second round counterparts.

Ah I see, I wasn't aware of this track.. Well, I'm still sticking with drafting a LT in 1st round idea.. So I guess if I'm GM, I would resign Campbell and sign a best available free agent QB and let them compete.. I just don't see how can we not target a LT in 1st round, especially with our Ts situation.. We basically don't have a young healthy T that would step in if Samuels either retires or comes back then get hurt again.. And not to mention the fact that we don't have a clear cut RT neither..

while i agree for the most part qb's are deep this year in the draft and you could probably pick one up in the 2nd round this year, and kolb was pretty money the games he played this year, i wouldn't be surprised if he starts some where next year or goes some where where he has a chance to compete for the starting job

2nd Round QBs in the past 5 years:
2009 - Pat White
2008 - Chad Henne, Brian Brohm
2007 - Kevin Kolb, Drew Stanton
2006 - Kellen Clemens, Tavaris Jackson
2005 - None Taken
