I've been wanting to post this for a long time. Why dont the Redskins go to a 3-4 defense. It seems to be the dominant defense in the league and I think we have the players. Jason Taylor would be better siuted to it and we could have Golston and Evans play the ends and Monty play NT. Wilson could probably play some LB and maybe a Suggs in Free agency or a Dansby. What Do you guys think.

We don't have 3 solid linebackers, how are we better suited for a defense that requires 4?

Furthermore, you need a big NT in the middle and right now our DTs don't fit the 3-4 type tackle. Despite the conversion to the 3-4, teams like the Giants and Eagles still play the 4-3 D and they have done well with it.

bingo, we dont have the defensive linemen for that sort of scheme either. Id be intrigued by the 3-4, but we are not in a position to overhaul our defense right now.

I'll admit to have been wondering about this too. The main reason is just when you hear about some of the names they've been showing interest in come draft time (Brian Cushing, some DT whose name I'm blanking on, Brian Orakpo apparently), those are all guys arguably better suited for the 3-4.

On the other hand, Haynesworth if they make a big push for him, is probably better suited to be a 4-3. As is Montgomery.

But, I suspected they might go WCO last year and they did. So maybe you've got something here

Carter was a horrible linebacker in San Fran. Thats why they let him go.

Montgomery could play NT and so could Griffin(although hope they cut him)

In the 3-4 you need three solid d-lineman, including a big DT that can draw a double team and can push the offensive line. So if we move Carter and JT to LBs, then who do you have as defensive ends?
