EternalEnigma21 02-03-2009, 02:37 PM I did other things for Bfast, but I considered it. Hell i went to wegmans yesterday and used coupons for the first time in my life. they have some pretty good deals.
I'll say this, the best breakfast deal I've ever had was in Charlottesville the other day, at Golden Corral. I don't like Golden Corral, usually, but my cousin and i had a biz meeting there and the food was awesome and they had everything you could think of for 9.04. They even had pitchers of tomato juice at the bar on ice, and you could pour yourself a glass. Its not often that you see different juices available at no additional charge. Usually juices are my fav part of a large breakfast. The bacon wasn't paper thin, and they had eggs benedict, several quiches, souffles, and an omelet/waffle bar. I may make the trip again with the kids (although I'd probably pay 5 bucks for them to have a bowl of cereal...)
saden1 02-03-2009, 03:38 PM I wouldn't eat there even for free. Gross
That is such an elitist attitude. Sure, it's not IHOP but it's no shanty town food stand. :soapbox:

I actually really enjoy Denny's, and go there for their French Slams.
I went today and got the free one(grand not french), for which I waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes to get a table with my Mom, sister and her 2 kids. Waited only about 15 minutes for food, which was great considering the place was SLAMMED (pun intended) and left after 2 hours, leaving a full tip mind you. It was a GRAND time.
the Dennys I went to had the manager outside with pads of paper taking names and telling people to come back in 30-40 minutes because the lobby area was too full.
PS Yes I also goto McDonalds every week day this month to get a free McCafe Mocha from those guys. Thanks Corporate America, Great Promotions!!!!!

Dude you waited around for 1 hour and 10 minutes to get a $4.99 meal because it was free?
GMScud 02-03-2009, 05:48 PM I feel pretty out of touch for having NO CLUE what this is all about. Why is Denny's giving away a Grand Slam meal?
EDIT: Nevermind, a quick search and I see that it is just a promo. Probably smart, considering coffee, juice, and extra sides, etc aren't included. Plus it builds interest. However I wouldn't be caught dead in a Denny's today. Probably some pretty grimy folks taking advantage of the free handout.

Don't mean to get defensive, BUT
- I waited, because my Mom, my sister and her 2 kids(who love Denny's and were excited about going) were all together, and I relaxed and enjoyed the time with them. Sorry that I don't really share a "East Coast" mentality that says you must be in and out, and can't enjoy the time. The free meal was as good a reason, as when I go out to Texas Roadhouse and wait for a good while for a meal that is not free. From the tone on this thread you would think people had committed heresy to go and take advantage of a good offer, and good food.

No worries man! It is your time and your stomach. I worked in the hospitality industry for ten years and we were always taught you are not selling them a meal or room you are selling them the experience. It sounds like you had a good experience with your family at a good price in a tough economy. That my friend is a win!

My wife swears by Golden Corral's breakfast...I could just never bring myself to go in there...I may have to change my ways. It's not like I have to go far either (the one behind FSK Mall is a few miles from my house).

Golden Corral is amazing, also should try Blue Moon Diner for breakfast, I hit it up on the regular.
ArtMonkDrillz 02-04-2009, 04:33 PM Golden Corral is amazing, also should try Blue Moon Diner for breakfast, I hit it up on the regular.I keep seeing a Golden Corral commercial where they're advertising a steak wrapped in bacon, which under normal circumstances would be great, but it looks so gross in the ad that it makes me want to become a vegan. Seriously, I don't know how they managed to do it, but they've somehow made a steak wrapped in freaking bacon look like a hockey puck with a Slim Jim tied to it.
But, if they do indeed have good breakfast then all is forgiven.
