The cinematographer walked in front of Bale's eye line while the scene was being recorded, which is a very unprofessional thing, and which clearly distracted Bale when he was in a zone of sorts. This isn't someone being a dick to a waiter because his eggs are cold. Clearly the guy is a little bit unbalanced but I kind of see where he is coming from here.
