If we limit this to only games we have personally seen live and not on replay, then I'm forced to go with Ravens-Giants from 2000. But I maintain that SB 35 is was a better game than the three I've mentioned above.

Buc's-Raiders. Great back story, but the blowout just killed it for me.

I'd say the only really bad game this decade was in 2001 (Super Bowl XXXV) when the Ravens beat the piss out of the Giants. I mean, it was great to see the Giants get crushed, but it was a beating from the get go.

At least with the blowout games of the 80's and early 90's you got the impression you were watching historically great teams do their thing, e.g. the 49ers and Bears, which made it easier to deal with lopsided scores. It was almost like watching Hulk Hogan or Macho Man pummel some scrub on Saturday morning's WWF Superstars, in that given that you knew the outcome was predetermined, you could get behind the blowout.

For pure snooze factor I go Broncos/Falcons or Steelers/Seahawks; historically pretty good but not great teams doing just enough to win against bumbling opponents. Yawn.

Bears over the Pats and the 49ers over the Chargers.

There is nothing worse than a total blowout in the SB, especially when you see it coming from a mile away.

Black Sunday. Raiders 38 Skins 9. That was by far the worst SB I have ever seen. Complete domination by the Raiders.

I think I cried after Marcus Allen ripped that 74 yd TD run.

Superbowl XXV Giants vs Bills. It may have been close, but that was the ugliest game in tems of scoring that I had ever seen at that point in my life. It was a pain to watch.

The worst Super Bowls to me are the ones that you know are going to be a blowout for the whole two weeks leading up to the game and then unfold exactly as expected. Bears over the Pats and the 49ers over the Chargers imediately come to mind. There are other super bowls where you at least thought there was a chance for a good game and were mildly surprised at the blowout...but these two games offered no intrigue or excitement.
