In terms of excitement, yes it was close game.
But all time greatest? No.
The level of play was not all time greatest caliber.
The rule changes over the years has turned NFL football into a flag football throwing league and last nights game was the evidence of that.
73 pass attempts for 633 yards to only 38 running plays for only 72 yards. The Cardinals only ran the ball 12 times for 12 yards. Pathetic.
Roethlisbuger was not very impressive.
After watching the NFL network last week and seeing the past Sb's and seeing the Pittsburg vs Dallas SB in 1979, it reminds me of what two really talented teams looks like. I saw Staubach take a vicious but yet clean hit that I expected him to miss a play or two. But he bounced back up like it did not hurt him at all. In today's NFL Roethlisberger last night got pushed (two hand push) and they called a 15 penalty. Sad.
The NFL and most if its fans wants a game like last night.
It's beyond sad. I don't even understand why the refs call stuff like that. Especially in a game of this magnitude. But it seems every single week I see horrible calls that are just so bad that I've gotten use to it.

Y'all need to get out of here, saying this was the best super bowl ever! Man that game was so ugly to watch! no team could run the rock, Cards OTs couldn't block a turtle coming off the edge, big ben kept the ball alive cause the cards couldn't tackle him.....saw more flags then at ur local July 4th parade....everyone saying it was best ever cause of the 2 lead changes in the 4th quarter, including a great catch by holmes in the corner.....HOW THE HELL did 3 guys let holmes get to the corner?!?!?!? It was good, but not nearly the best. not even top 10
You want to take this one Goat? I thought it was a decent game....exciting at the end, but the officiating was'nt the greatest.....as usual.

Lol, I might use that for a presentation I have to do in class on consumer perceptions.

The issue with close games is people will always complain about calls. You either like the close games and deal with the calls good or bad or you like the blow outs where there is no question. For a long time we had blow outs and recently have been having a run of close games like this one. I would like to see the Skins pull some miracle and make it in next year and have a nice blow out. lol.
In any event we are one step closer to draft day. lol. Bring on the Pro bowl, Free agency, and then draft day. Yeah.

Seems to be a buzz stirring about the game being one of the best.

Not surprising the day after the game, let's see what they say in 2014

Really??
I was amazed at how he kept escaping from pressure to keep plays alive. I thought he played a great game and overall the game was very entertaining.
The lack of a running game was due to a few things. #1 both run D's did their job, and #2 Arizona is a passing team and they were playing from behind for alot of the game.

could it be that to some degree the officials seemed incompetent or worse

If not for that pick 6, they just may have.
I was also wondering why the corner went for the ball instead of trying to push Santonio Holmes out of bounds...stupid.
three guys and you let him get behind you. what a lame ending for the cards
