It's only the end of January and already we have 115 inches of snow here in Syracuse NY. I'm not the nutball who is at all proud that we get this snow, this is just the hell whole I choose to live in. I have lived in NE and experienced tons of snow as well. It is worst here (DC Area). It is just not the amount of snow but more the amount of people trying to get around in the snow. See DC is a cluster f--k already to start with then you throw in a couple inches of snow and it all goes to hell. See when I lived in Portsmouth NH we could get 100 inches of snow and it was not a problem becuse what where the chances I was going to bump into one of the other four people that lived there. Please remeber also up north the snow plow to person ratio is like 1 to 1, we don't have that type of equipment here. I am not leashing out at you so much as the "tough guy" northern that thinks they have it so tough because of all their snow. Come live down here year round in the middle of the rat race you won't have time to think about the weather, trust me. firstdown 01-30-2009, 12:35 PM Pretty shitty weather here in DC this morning. The side streets were awful getting out of my neighborhood, but the main roads are fine. The sidewalks are pretty slick, but all in all, downtown Bethesda is pretty normal. I like snow, and I like cold weather, but F ice. I drove up to DC Wednesday and when I turn off 64 near Richmond on to 295 it was 68. In just 15 miles the temp dropped to 38 and stuck there all the way into DC. Hog1 01-30-2009, 12:48 PM I drove up to DC Wednesday and when I turn off 64 near Richmond on to 295 it was 68. It was the Cold hearted Democrats now in charge in DC....They also....have no reflection in a mirror NM Redskin 01-30-2009, 01:53 PM well my electric bill goes through the roof. Yeah, i just got my gas bill. F winter! firstdown 01-30-2009, 03:13 PM Yeah, i just got my gas bill. F winter! When I first got married we rented an old farm house that was over looking the Nansmond River and had hugh lake in the front yard. This house was the party house until we got a few wenter heating bills. They averaged around $400 and we had one a little over $600 and don't think that house had a lick of insulation. CRedskinsRule 03-02-2009, 08:03 AM Just wanted to bump this thread as the snow is falling here! Drove in to work this morning and slipped all over the dang place. mredskins 03-02-2009, 08:29 AM I slide into a curb at like 1 mph no damage just pissed me off it was all becasue of my shity Dunlop tires, they came with my 4Runner and they are the worst. Getting new tires this summer either Yokes or Bridgestone Revos. ArtMonkDrillz 03-02-2009, 08:31 AM Just wanted to bump this thread as the snow is falling here! Drove in to work this morning and slipped all over the dang place.I'm sitting at home wondering if I should take the drive from Columbia to work in Glen Burnie today. It's like a 30-40 minute drive normally, but I-95 looks like poop on the news. I drive a Jeep with 4 wheel drive, but I'm concerned about the wind and ice. The problem is that I know the rest of the week will just be completely miserable if I can't get in for at least a little while today. Lady Brave 03-02-2009, 08:35 AM 4-5 inches here. Yay, snow day! http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i240/riggins44/DSC00452.jpg |
