I think my heart just palpitated by reading that... Oh wait, nevermind, it was the Big Mac I just shoveled into my pie hole... dmek25 01-24-2009, 04:53 PM home made nachos. and we live in Pa., and my wife makes one helluva crab cake, thank you:) Schneed10 01-24-2009, 10:19 PM Today I had a Schmidter, a Philly specialty. It's a philly cheesesteak with salami chopped up and cooked in, smothered in sharp provolone with a little Russian dressing. You'd think the Russian dressing would be out of place, but for whatever reason it's great. Served on a huge soft kaiser. Yum. I'm not big on Russian dressing but in the right situation it's killer. KLHJ2 01-28-2009, 01:08 PM In between Connecticut Ave and 16th street somewhere? I'm trying to think of schools on that road... other than BCC High School, I'm drawing a blank. Shows you how much I pay attention when I'm on my way to work. A cup of coffee and sportstalk 980 is all I care about.... Yep...Rosemarry Hills. Hog1 01-28-2009, 01:32 PM Today I had a Schmidter, a Philly specialty. In all fairness, it should come with a Surgeon Generals warning label on it, or possibly a "heart stint" kit. No worries, I am confident the Fed will nix that.....delight, with the food "fat tax" allegedly. I better order one over the web before that happens. Can't get a decent Philly here GMScud 01-28-2009, 01:33 PM Damn that sounds good. I'm not big on Russian dressing but in the right situation it's killer. Like on a nice warm Reuben sandwich... which I believe I'm going to have today. Anyone from Northwest DC / Bethesda probably knows the greatness of Booeymonger sandwiches. Booeymonger * A Unique Delicatessen * (http://www.booeymonger.com/) BDBohnzie 01-28-2009, 02:59 PM I used to pass the Booeymonger in Ballston on my way to work every day, but never stopped... We have a semi-hidden secret here in Frederick called aka Frisco's (http://akafriscos.piczo.com/?cr=5) that is tucked back in an industrial park. Amazing cold cut sandwiches, soups, salads and baked potatoes. One of their specialties is called exploded potatoes. Imagine potato salad with chives and butter, smashed to hell and served warm. Sounds weird, but they are amazing. Today, I had their roast beef and cheddar with a cup of white bean chicken chili. |
