Gruden is also good with QBs, but in that case I'd worry about the "too many cooks in the kitchen" cliche as far as Jason Campbell is concerned. Zorn has already started molding him.
Sherman Smith and Zorn are also very close friends. I don't see Smith getting fired. I have a feeling adding Gruden to our staff would complicate more than help.
Which quarterbacks are you talking about?

OK how many of you on the Gruden thread talked about how much he did with the lack of talent he had? If that was you then why would you want BA the man who was in charge of finding that lack of talent for the Buc's.?

1. I always thought Gruden and Allen were really close but I've learned recently that they may not have been the case. They actually clashed a lot
2. This isn't the first time Bruce Allen has been rumored to be available and not the first time he's been rumored to be "coming home to the Redskins"
3. Just a couple of days ago, PFT was speculating Allen for NFLPA Executive Director. So what's next...Warpath Mod?
4. Bruce Allen's most obvious skill is his mastery of contracts and the salary cap...but we already have Eric Schaeffer for that
5. I increasingly get the feelings that, Allen or not, Scott Campbell is going to be a fall guy here even though they gave him more responsibilities last year
6. Bringing Allen in doesn't mean letting Cerrato go necessarily
7. Going back to point 5, plus Campbell's noted passion for college scouting and Allen's work with pro contracts, I suppose I could theoretically see a scenario where Campbell is Director of College Scouting (or whatever title you want to give him) and Allen is Director of Pro Personnel. But then what about Mo Brown? Does he jump over Campbell as Campbell did to Riddick and become Director of Player Personnel?

So....first of all, this is a PFT Rumor....so I'm not going to get riled up about it until I hear it somewhere else (I checked ESPN rumors, and didn't see anything). I guess it'd make sense for Allen to come in as some sort of assistant to Vinny...unless Snyder wants Vinny to move on to other things right away.
Now Allen is no Pioli (although Patriots fans would tell you that Pioli did everything through Darth Hoody, so he's not that great), but I think a new voice in the front office would not be a bad thing.

Way to stir the pot Skinny:)
That's the least I can do.
I at least had the decency to head the title of thread "Rumor:". Although as far out in left field as this article is it should have been "Wildly Outrageous Rumor:"

Nah, "PFT Rumor" would have been sufficient...any Warpath member would know that it means "Wildly Outrageous" Rumor. LOL. :food-smil

to me this all comes down to the danny's growth as an owner & willingness to let go/admit mistakes. i.e.if Allen were hired & given the title 'GM' many people would say it's about time we got a GM.
However, if he doesn't have full authority over personel, which I question whether Vinny truly does, we've got the same issues.
Having said that, a hiring of Allen & letting go of Vinny might be a sign of major positive change by the Danny. But simply hiring another guy w/some name recognition does not convince me that true change is underway.

Because he has limited GM experience and there's probably not a lot of teams pounding down his door.
really? I thought the dude was gm at Oakland for a no. of years, then tampa for the last 7
