The first line of his resume should read...My name is not Vinny Cerrato.

That's basically my point. Who's to say this guy would be any better?? He's only been a GM in the NFL since 2004.

Yea but arn't you at the point where you just want anyone new? If not why? We have had 10+ years of subpar football and we have tried replacing everyone else but him? Maybe it's not all his fault but isn't it worth a shot?

why would we want him?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. His drafts in TB were pretty unremarkable. If the answer is because he's not Vinny, that's not really a great reason to me to go after him.

Yeah, pro or con he is a Buccaneer castoff. So they must of rid themselves of him for some reason. I would like to know more about him though before I start wholesale endorsing.

I do like the fact that he isn't yet neutered by Danny. He still has his balls until he signs a contract. If somehow he can keep his balls away from Snyder he'll be a good hire.

If the answer is because he's not Vinny, that's not really a great reason to me to go after him.Well, he WAS the only period of competency in Oakland between 1994 and present day. He's been tied to Gruden's hip since he's been in the business.

I think he's the model for finding talented veterans that no one else wants, but I wouldn't give him total control of my football team.

This rumor seems to make way too much sense to be true. I think it's fabricated.

I highly doubt that he would be coming in to replace Cerrato. If anything I could see him come in as an assitant to Cerrato, but why would he want to do that?

Anyone?

No, I wouldn't seek out change just for the sake of change. If we bring someone in let's bring in someone with a proven background. Not some schlub who we'll end up replacing in a few years. That makes no sense to me at all.

Bruce Allen is irrelivent really...I am excited at the possibility of there being a thought in Snyders head that maybe quite possibly my front office needs a new voice. If that thought is in his head then that alone is a victory and I couldn't care less if he actually hires Allen, because I will at least know the seed is planted.

In all likelyhood, he was fired because he didnt want to fire Gruden. It could be a matter of loyalty - Gruden lobbied for Allen to be brought in to Tampa Bay. Allen may have fought too hard to keep Gruden as the HC and because he didnt want to fire Gruden and the owner did, they were both gone. Thats pure speculation though.

The main attraction of Allen over Cerrato is:

1) He doesnt trade away draft picks.
2) He's not Dannys personal whipping boy
3) The fact that he's not Cerrato gives us leverage in hiring a HC to replace Zorn at some point - its been reported that Cerrato isnt well liked and its been implied that the reason Spags didnt take the job here last year was not wanting to work with Cerrato.

Because he has limited GM experience and there's probably not a lot of teams pounding down his door.
