The fact that Spags possibly passed up around $9 million in comparison to what he got from the Rams speaks volumes about the lack of confidence coaches have in our front office. I mean what did he get 4 years $11.5 million. Danny probably would have given him $20 million over the same time frame, that or part of the reason Spags turned down Danny was because he lowballed him.
Good post ,I was going to go there myself. He took a paycut from the Giants job he was getting alittle more than 2million a year.

Spags didn't come here because this is a highly dysfunctional FO. Snyderatto had already picked coaches and had chosen some players to be their special friends.
Zorn, a guy with no OC or HC experience, or an old burnout was all that Danny Snyder could get. Big question this off-season: Can Vinny improve his dismal 2008 draft performance?
We'll only be a contender next year if the other teams in the NFC East implode or disintegrate. Dallas looks like they're on the way!

this really helps the skins. the giants defense was only mediocre with him as the co- ordinator. now they will probably take at least a step backwards

I doubt it. The Giants have a very good ownership and front office, unlike the Redskins. They'll just promote from within and continue with the same defense that Spags was running.

Spags was also not nearly the hot commodity he was last offseason. Chiefs, Broncos, Jets, and Lions all interviewed him and passed.
As for who will replace Spagnuolo in NY, it will probably will be an in-house person since their first choice Dom Capers (an outsider) passed the offer to take the job in Green Bay

I wonder what will become of Saunders? Spags is a defensive guy...will he bring his own OC or keep Saunders in.
There's a rumor, though I don't know how legit it is, that Spagnuolo wants to implement the West Coast Offense

Spags was just as hot but when Gruden and Shanahan open up, everyone just backed off.The Giants also lost their OL coach to the Dolphins,Spags seems to be ready to steel what he can away from the Eagles for his coaching staff.

They looked mediocre against the Eagles in the playoffs.
