If Crennel stays with Mangini, seems to me Crennel cuts all ties with Belicheck and his club of coaches. I don't imagine Bill is the most forgiving of men.

They put him on their short-list of candidates and tried to interview him but he basically wasn't interested. He's not coaching this year, what with JJ in Dallas prepared to offer him the world in 2010.

For the reasons you state, a guy like Josh McDaniels (who incidentally could be replacing Shanahan in Denver) makes more sense.
