Talk about a guy who doesn't give a rats ass who his receivers are. He just gets the job done. Didn't have good wide outs in San Diego and kept on ticking all year regardless of who was or wasn't in the game.

I hope the Skins stay away from all NO receivers in the future. It's all a mirage. Brees can make any WR look world class.

Interesting comment on Sportscenter about this-How does Peyton Manning win the MVP but not offensive player of the year?

I would agree with the exception of Marques Colston. That guy is a stud.

Well, Manning led a team with an average defense and no running game on a 9 game winning streak, despite coming off pretty serious knee surgery that kept him out of training camp and had him hobbled the first few weeks of the regular season.

But Manning's stats don't really measure up with Brees this year. Brees was like 15 yards away from breaking the single season passing record. He torches everyone. I think if the Saints hadn't finished last in their division and made the playoffs, Brees would have been MVP.

like i said before, Brees should have been league M.V.P

I won't argue that, although I think it can be argued. I was just making the point that even when Colston was out with injury, Brees kept plugging away and their offense kept putting up points. I believe there was even a David Patten sighting in New Orleans;)

The definitions of the two awards are different. Offensive Player of the Year is given based almost solely on statistics. Under that logic, Brees and his 5000 yard season definitely gets the nod.

The definition of MVP is debatable, but most voters tend to weigh heavily on the importance of the player to his team. So it's a different thought process.
