MTK 01-27-2009, 03:00 PM LOL my god is it that hard to spell Rinehart folks? GMScud 01-27-2009, 04:14 PM That JLC article was deflating: Rinehart can't play NFL football (how could we have so grossly misjudged him??), neither Heyer or Jansen are viable starters anymore but will both be back in '09. Thomas and Kendall are both in decline with health issues and will both be back in '09. We may go after a guard who could push for a starting job but nothing fancy. Hopefully we'll draft a tackle with our first pick. Sounds like our O-line (our biggest problem) won't be fixed much at all. No mention of Rabach either. I guess he'll be around. We need a home run hitter compliment to Portis but can't afford one in free agency and are limited in draft picks. Jason Taylor may come back, but if he does it will be for an overpaid $8.5M, and it sounds like he doesn't want to be here anyway. Griffin isn't going anywhere and it doesn't sound like we'll be a player for any real FA D-line contributors. I guess the possibility of landing a Connor Barwin type in the 3rd round is cool. We desperately need help with kicking/punting, but we'll do little more than give our current bums some competition in training camp. And we're stuck at WR. It's not looking up for 2009. Trample the Elderly 01-27-2009, 04:48 PM It's taken years to dig this hole. It will take years to climb out of it. If I didnt know better, I would say Vinny WANTED to get fired. I tried to tell y'all this by creating this thread, but I ended up with a bunch of "No dude, we'll cut this guy and that guy and that guy and turn our whole team over and we'll be good to go" posts. I ain't going to say "I told you so" yet, not until we actually see what they do. But the numbers - by and large - tell the tale. SmootSmack 01-27-2009, 05:32 PM Most of what JLC wrote we've been talking about for a while here. And it's really only deflating because we all want that quick fix every second of every game. WaldSkins 01-27-2009, 05:41 PM By reading this article it sounds like we don't have an area that doesn't need some attention. BigHairedAristocrat 01-27-2009, 06:05 PM By reading this article it sounds like we don't have an area that doesn't need some attention. and evidently we've decided not to address alot of these areas for some reason. SBXVII 01-27-2009, 06:19 PM I know an area that does not effect the CAP. ...lol..WR Coach. lol. siranara. lol. Dirtbag59 01-27-2009, 06:50 PM I still relish in the idea of Vinny sitting at the end of the table with everyone in the room asking with a straight face "so why did we faulter during the second half of the season." Joe Bugels getting held back, Stan Hixon's hiding under the table, Zorn's curled up in the fetal position, Blache is yelling obscenities and asking why doesn't he have the new Defensive Tackle he's been asking for the last few years, all the while Snyder is counting his money. |
