Springs might land with Pats. Someone had mentioned this when Springs was cut....I think SSmack.....(The ESPN Insider)?

If true and he gets a deal then I surely didn't see this one coming. But they do like the old guys at the end of their career. Usually they pickup the ones the can still ball consistently. Which Springs has been anything but. Good luck.

SHAWN SPRINGS VISITING THE PATS

Veteran cornerback Shawn Spring could be the latest member of the Patriots’ thirtysomething defense.

The 12-year veteran, cut by the Redskins in the wake of the Albert Haynesworth signing, will visit the Pats on Sunday, according to Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal.

Free-agent cornerback Leigh Bodden visited the Pats on Friday, but reportedly left without a contract.

I like Kevin Burnett as our replacement for LB. He is young and a goo blitzer, just what we need. Has good size and can cover. Here is what NFL.com says about him.

Kevin Burnett, OLB, Dallas Cowboys: Although he was a backup last season, he actually saw a good deal of playing time in nickel situations and handled himself well. As the year progressed, he made his mark in Wade Phillips' defense as an effective blitzer. Burnett enters the open market in search of a starting role, something he couldn't get in Dallas. Judging by the steady improvement he showed, another team could very well be catching him on the rise.

According to the poll, the FO has now made 73% of us seriously happy. That is pretty d*** amazing. My :twocents: Our FO, Dan and Vinny, deserve a nod as the most creative, and exciting FO in the league. I am not saying that they are perfect, but absolutely they try to bring players here who make our team better. Maybe it works, maybe not. But would you really have a FO like Detroit, Philly, Dallas, or Tampa Bay???

:food-smil to all the FO personnel, wherever you are.:food-smil

Here in lies the problem....everyone wants the Skins to have a young talented team which means pulling from the draft over several years and keeping those draft picks. Our record before last year in regards to the draft was abismal. We pick 8 and keep 1 to 3 players. If we had the talent scouts to be able to pick decent college players then we could do that. Unfortunatly we don't.

So then what other way do you get talent? You look for middle of their career FA's. They have already shown they can play, the speed of the game has slowed down for them and they still have some years left.

Last year I was kinda excited to see us pick up Taylor. Only cause we really had no talent there. Daniels went down with his knee injury and that left no real good talent for DE. We had Eratic James who we never used? why? I don't know. It was just crappy luck Taylor ended up with an injury. Now if Haynesworth can stay healthy then we should have a very disruptive defensive line. :) If not then we are the laughing stock again and everyone will bash the FO. We will start hearing the I told you so's.

I know our FO is a lot and i mean a lot better then other FO's though.

I can't figure out what the Eagles are trying to do? McNoodle has said he wants talented WR. They ignore TJ cause he wants money and trade their CB and S? I think the only thing the Eagles can field is good OL and DL.

Giants sound like they are trying to keep status quo. Perhaps they will pick up a replacement WR for Buress in the draft.

Dallas seems to be trading talent like the Eagles? I can't figure out why. Their best CB for a second hand QB Kitna? LOL.

Funny, Yahoo.com has us as a Day 1 Loser as far as FA's go. Not to mention they also throw us under the bus for the whole layoffs thing. Plenty of teams have been laying off employees, and all of those teams are operating under the same salary cap that we are, yet we're taking the most heat for it.

Day 1: Winners and losers - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AvwNg9jwOG0WaEjrg1QTlZA5nYcB?slug=cr-winlose022709&prov=yhoo&type=lgns)

Again, the argument about the layoffs is weak. For one thing we're talking about different business units. For another, the players are revenue drivers. Camera Operator #3 for Redskins TV isn't bringing fans to the stands driving up revenue and he's not likely to help us get an extra win or two that can put us in the playoffs and maybe add an extra homegame or two...bringing more fans to the stands and creating more revenue.

I posted about him somewhere but I can't remember where. Glad to see someone else picked up on this. I don't know if we have enough money left for him but he's worth a look.

Nice 44. Davis or Olshansky don't look to bad but signing Evans who is already familiar with us and is a good locker room presence is probably our best bet.
