ok off topic so I apologize in advance. are we starting new threads for every free agent signing (I'm only asking because we're about an hour away)?

No criticism from my corner wrt the o-line and not breaking the bank on big Al. CANNOT AGREE ON CANTY. Jeez does it not matter to anyone that he's an f'ing Cowboy... a team full of drama and showboats and everything that we're so lucky to not have to deal with.

... I've said it before and I'll say it again, a monster at SLB will do more for us than a nice upgrade on the d-line. Only a really hungry Haynesworth would be more beneficial than a stud OLB but I think we all suspect he'll mail it in w/ a huge, longterm contract. If we address the o-line as you have here Ruh then we can take Rey Maluauga at 13 in all probability, the hardest hitter in the draft and a guy who will bring the heat when he blitzes. I think that's smarter than dishing out a pile for Canty, who will def not come cheap according to his agent. Besides, Canty will be happy to play for the Tuna again where we don't have to see him.

No it doesn't. You've gotta forget about the fact he is a Cowboy. He's a good player, period. Passing on a guy based on who he plays for is just insane.

I believe that in recent light of Danny sitting down with AH's agent it wouldn't look good if he was our first visit, or if we were to sign him right away because it could be ammunition for Tennesse to claim tampering on part of Washington. If I am wrong to think that way then let me know.

Why do you think Canty wants to leave Dallas? He's a high-character guy, signing him would be a steal

I've only heard he's shown some interest in Miami cuz of the FO/coaching ties. Honestly I'd want out of Dallas as a clean character guy :). What I've not heard is that he has any interest coming to DC and again it almost baffles me so many Skins fans would want that.

Plus... a gain for us in Canty is a loss for Dallas. It's a win-win.
