Good for him, bad for us. I don't think he's going to get the head coaching gig there, they need a bigger name/personality to establish their program but he's a great coach.

ComCast is reporting that Jerry Gray will interview for the Detroit Lions vacant head coaching position and various defensive coordinator positions around the league. We may be losing a guy who could very well be an excellent defensive coordinator. Your thoughts?

Yes, agree. He was a DC in Buffalo under GW.

Maybe we can make him "DDC" (designated defensive coord) when Blache retires? Similar to the deal when Holmgren retired.

I was trying to avoid the talks of him being a fluff or minority candidate. I'd love to retain him no doubt. I guess it depends who else Detroit can get to listen.

hahahaha thats great....

I hope we can Keep Gray. Our secondary has been the heart and soul of our D. I'd like to see him and 'Los stay and continue our strong D. It would be amazing what we could do with some pass rush and push up the middle...

I guess if we lose him we'll find out just how good he was. Without the quality play of our secondary this year there is no way we would of had a top 5 defense.

I think he would be a huge loss, like I said before Blache should have been told to retire before the announcement of him coming back and Gray should have been promoted to DC. If we lose him I hope the same doesn't happen to Olivadotti.

I agree with you on Blache and Gray. Looks like Gray will also get a shot at DC in Houston (which probably is a better shot - and a better job - than HC in Detroit).
