I thought we ended up with the 13th overall pick.
FYI for 2009.. Draft & ScheduleSheriff Gonna Getcha 12-29-2008, 05:22 PM I thought we ended up with the 13th overall pick. Chief X_Phackter 12-29-2008, 05:41 PM Trade it along with Betts and Randle El, stock up on picks spend them on both lines and a backup RB...or pick at 14, maybe get a keeper down the line in the draft and take your chances. Randle El isn't terribly productive, has a high cap figure, and will be 30 years old by the time next season starts. If you are a GM for another team, what kind of draft pick would you trade for him? Ladell Betts will also be 30 years old by the time next season starts and good running backs can be found late in the draft. So, I would be stunned if we managed to get anything better than a 5th round pick for either player and we'd be lucky to get that much. rbanerjee23 12-29-2008, 10:23 PM Randle El isn't terribly productive, has a high cap figure, and will be 30 years old by the time next season starts. Definitely, definitely trade the first rounder to get more picks because the Skins do not draft well (Sean taylor is the only one who comes to mind who was a stud - Rogers is still a work in progress) in the first round. Pick up o linemen and d linemen because griffin is getting old, gholston is not a suitable backup, jansen is finished, samuels is showing his age. I think the trench units will be in serious trouble next season if they are not shored up. skinsfan1987 12-29-2008, 11:27 PM does anyone trust dannyboy and vinny selection processes for the 2009 nfl draft? skinsnut 12-29-2008, 11:57 PM I personally think they'd be best off trading back for sure... you just NEVER know with the 1st round picks.. boom or bust... OH MAN, that's what I thought last year when we ended up with a couple 2nd rounders....then they spent them on redundant WR and TEs that have shown zero....how the hell do you go 0-3 with 2nd rounders.... Sorry for venting....but any talk of our draft picks right now leaves me uninspired to say the least....how hard is it to draft Dlinemen? LBs? Olinemen worth a crap? Will our FO ever learn or do we have to hope for a complete collapse so we can hope for Parcells to come in for 1 year and fix it? Everyone said....awesome...10 picks...they finally get it....then they screw em all up but get lucky with Horton as a 4th safety....they turn around and trade a 2nd and 6th away for a very old Jason Taylor....I was even ok with it at the time...but boy....the FO moves last season sure look crappy now. I hold very little hope for offseason moves this year...I completely expect the Skins to do something splashy to screw us for years to come. Lilman52 12-30-2008, 12:06 AM Yes according to NFL.com the 'Skins do draft #13 overall not #14. We need a big pickup with this pick on either line this year!! 53Fan 12-30-2008, 12:09 AM what about that tackle from Virginia? is he expected to be top 10? if not, there is our pick Eugene Monroe would be a good pick for us. I think he's projected top 10 but you never know how the draft will go. Soup's Uncle 12-30-2008, 11:31 AM does anyone trust dannyboy and vinny selection processes for the 2009 nfl draft? Not really, cus Vinny says things like, "It's bad to just draft a need, you have to take best available..." That's horse crap. If the best available player is a tight end, than why take a tight end when you have Chris Cooley and you just drafted Fred Davis. Why not combine the two philosophies and take bet available of the needs you have! Take the best available OL with our first pick, or trade it for more. Last year we had a pick somehwere in the 20's and got two second rounders for it, so I think a 13th pick could get us more than that. I woould like to keep the pick, and find someway to get more picks through a trade. Find some idiot to take Randle El for a 4th rounder. |
