I think we should keep him and pay him. He's still a great player and finally getting healthy. A 2 year deal for 8 mill. We will see many more sacks from JT.
Blache Hopes Taylor Returns Next Year44ever 12-23-2008, 06:34 PM I think we should keep him and pay him. He's still a great player and finally getting healthy. A 2 year deal for 8 mill. He was hurt. Give him a healthy season. Isn't that what Shawn Alexander did? EARTHQUAKE2689 12-26-2008, 09:25 AM RBs are different and Alexander had a beast line tryfuhl 12-26-2008, 09:34 AM Wonder what his offseason plans are. dmek25 12-26-2008, 10:12 AM here is the bottom line. who is it up to? does he want to play one more year? if so, then the ball falls into the redskins court. is he worth 8 million? not with his production. did he add anything to our defense? that's up to the coaching staff. you could probably sign 3 draft picks with that 8 million. or a pretty nice free agent. its all in what the skins management sees in Taylor GTripp0012 12-26-2008, 03:35 PM And, of course, no release fee since he's already been paid his bonus by the Dolphins. I still think Jason Taylor can be worth 8 million to this team, but you know, if you need the money to sign someone to do the job better, there's no harm in calling an end to the experiment. nyredskinsfan 12-30-2008, 08:11 AM He should restructure, although he should be just fine when healthy. You don't go from league MVP caliber to bust in one year. He was hurt. Give him a healthy season. Agreed. He played well against Philly. That's only one game but he's been hurt as you mentioned. He also has nads, trying to play when he was too hurt. BrunellMVP? 12-30-2008, 12:23 PM bryan (cumberland, Md.): Jason Taylor, Brett Farve do you see either returning next year ? Matt Mosley: (12:15 PM ET ) Taylor's not going back to Washington. I'm pretty certain about that. I bet he'll retire. Favre will drag this out and make a big production -- like he always does. BigHairedAristocrat 01-02-2009, 04:41 PM I honestly was hoping Blache would retire after this year. he can talk all he wants to about his top 5 defense, but in the end, he was the biggest handicap for our defense all year. I saw a post on extremeskins with a link to footballoutsiders that had a much more comprehensive set of statistics to rank defenses and ours was ranked 11th, which seemed closer to what we really are. Agreed!! Jerry Gray should be promoted to DC so we don't lose him, unless he gets a HC gig which I doubt he's ready for. I think Gray is a young up and coming DC if given the chance. |
