JASON TAYLOR SAYS HE’S NOT WORTH $8 MILLION (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/12/18/jason-taylor-says-hes-not-worth-8-million/)

Redskins (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#) defensive end Jason Taylor wanted to leave Miami and sign with Washington because he didn’t want to spend the twilight of his career on a rebuilding team.
But as it turned out, the Dolphins are spending December fighting for a playoff spot, while the Redskins have gone in the tank. And in a sign that the Dolphins made the right move by trading Taylor and the Redskins made the wrong one by giving up a draft pick for him, Taylor himself says he knows he’s not worth the money in his contract.
“I’m a realist,” Taylor said today on 106.7 WJFK, per Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post. “You can tell me the truth, and I’m fine with that. Because at the end of the day, most of us know the truth and sometimes some guys are just afraid to admit it, but I’m not worth 8 million dollars (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2008/12/jason_taylor_im_not_worth_8_mi.html).”
Taylor also said he wouldn’t be surprised if the Redskins decide not to bring him back next season, reiterating that the Redskins would be completely justified if they don’t want him back because he’s not worth his salary.
Taylor has played in 11 games this year, starting eight. He has 1.5 sacks.

I bet he still won't take a pay cut for next year though.

I bet he would come back for a short 2-3 year new deal.

Either way, no way we're paying him $8M next year, that's the reality of it and he knows it.

He's already half way there. Part of the 12 step program is admission. lol. As someone stated before ...if he will redo his contract I say keep him and use him to spell Carter to keep fresh legs on the field. Go after another DE to play the other side from the draft. If he's not willing to redo contract tell him to have a nice day.

We are like Florida to old washed up NFL talent. Come to the Redskins get paid well for the twilight of your career, don't worry no one is expecting you to produce.

The Tuna was right and we were wrong. Just another example of why having a top notch guy running your organization is huge for long term success. It must be a bitter pill for Taylor to see Miami at 9-5 fighting for a division crown.
