Lets calm down. Jason Taylor had a pretty bad injury this year. If my memory serves, he played pretty well the first couple games. Getting some really good pressures on the QB -- then he hurt his calf pretty bad.
I'm more concerned with him retiring than the deal he has here.

Agreed. We all need to simmer down!

You can't just say he sucks. Think about it. He had what looked like a serious, year ending injury. It was a miracle that he's even playing this year.
He then has a couple surgeries on his calf.
He's most likely about 50% this season.
He's talented and a HOF player. He didn't lose this much in one year.

Pffftt. Parcells knew JT would be kicked in the leg and get some crazy blood clot that could have ended his life. Parcells is a genius.

does he mean he's not worth 8 million or is he trying to say don't expect 8 million dollar performance out of me. 8 million isn't that much in the NFL anymore. I'm just saying.
Who gives a crap about the money. A third round draft pick is worth a lot more than $8 million, and he's not worth that either.

He is the highest paid player on the Redskins. That says a lot.
He is not the best player on the team, by a long shot, so his compensation seems incorrect.
This is the major problem with the practice of back loading contracts.

Hey Gord, it was a second round pick and a sixth next year that we gave up for Jason Taylor. Plus at the time we had $9M in cap space and we used it all on him. Great job by our FO. Imagine what we could have done with $9m in the free agent market.

whats the problem? he was UNHEALTHY all season. i started a thread dedicated to this player/situation already...
if hes willing to take any paycut...8 mil...whatever....thats good enough for me...if he performs elite again next season...well then we finally made out.
But like i said in another thread...WE NEED more talent around him as well. If we can make a solid pickup like Haynesworth we wont feel the need to replace our ends so much. And we can stop worrying about sacking the quarterback.

I agree that the ends are not the problem, but i dont think we need to go for broke on Haynesworth.
