Growing pains. Life lessons learned. It was good to hear him examine himself, and will ultimately benefit himself and his relationship with the team.

I applauded Snyder when he hired Jim Zorn and I'm still on the Zorn bandwagon. I think we could be a much better team without some players making self serving statements. We need to have a good draft in 2009, but it's hard to do that when you've given up almost half of your choices.

I'm fine with Zorn leading this team. I was glad to hear him take some of the blame and I think he's the kind of guy who will learn from his mistakes. He's learning on the job, but that's what happens when you hire a guy with no headcoaching experience. I think Gibbs felt a little lost his first year too, but he turned out pretty good. I think Zorn will too given the opportunity.

i feel for the guy.

Credskins made a good point in another thread; Id like to see danny come out and give coach zorn a public endorsement that the organization is behind him, have full faith in him and that he will be the coach next year.

come on danny, this is the time when an owner should be looking to instil alil confidence and leadership. (please dont publicly endorse him now and fire him this offseason thoo)

go skins!!

this is a great opportunity for danny to show us what hes learned the past 10 years. will he step up? will he show he knows when an owner of a team must be heard?

Why stick with a guy if it is becoming more apparent every week he might not be HC material? Sorry bud, but this keeping a possible lemon HC for the sake of trying to establish continuity is downright stupid. The guy has lost the team, as the season has unraveled before our very eyes. The last time we kept a coach for continuity's sake was when John Cooke was the owner and he stuck by Norv all that time. At least Norv had a decent offensive scheme going for him, not much else though. He didn't lose the team either, just was too laid back and didn't inspire them or give em a swift kick in the ass when needed.

I hope Zorn gets a chance & they fire the players that are laying down.

Zorn is not the problem, it is our head office. Zorn deserves another shot. The growing pains of a new coach were delayed because of our early success. The fact we are 7-7 after aint too bad. Yeah I wish we could have played better throughout the whole season, but truth be told I saw us going 6-10.

Would it be possible to hold onto JZ as an OC and sign someone else as a HC?

Dude, why would you even want him as OC? His offensive scheme has already been figured out and makes Norv's offensive scheme look as genius as Martz's when he was on top with the Rams. Only thing I would make Zorn is a QB coach. He has no business as a OC, much less a HC.

You are right and wrong. Our Front Office messed up after 2000 firing Marty because he wanted GM powers. Snyder gambled with Spurrier after Gibbs rebuffed the HC offer. The Spurrier "experiment" was a disaster, then he finally got Gibbs back on. Gibbs did get us to the playoffs again, but there was no magic to be had again. You are wrong with Zorn though. His system sucks and the players know it. You can't fit squares in round holes. THe personnel we have is built around the running game and a nice down the field passing game. Dink and Dunk negates the speed of both Moss and Randle El. Of course our WR's having the case of the dropsies compounds the problem, but we simply have the wrong personnel for his system. On top of that his system has been busted wide open and pretty much figured out by our opposition. Only way Zorn can be successful in '09 is by pretty much revising his current system or throwing it out completely. The WCo might work in the crappy NFC West, but in the East, where the beasts lay, you need to be able to throw the deeper ball.

Yeah, who is laying down? You want to get rid of non performers might as well gut the whole offense(minus a few players Cooley, Portis, Moss), but then you have to totally start over from scratch. ANd th at I think is what Snyder might be thinking. If you have to gut the whole thing, might as well bring in a proven commodity to do it.
