Carl Peterson resigns in KCdmek25 12-16-2008, 07:50 AM i would take old man Reese, from e.s.p.n before Peterson redsk1 12-16-2008, 09:42 AM Peterson, probably not. His resume isn't too bad though. For a 10 year span they were the model franchise. One of the top 5 in the NFL year in and year out. Probably just misfortune that they never won a SB. I could live w/ Peterson vs VC. Joe Kidd 12-16-2008, 09:49 AM He never even made it to a Super Bowl though, and only 1 championship game appearance. That's pretty ho-hum. SmootSmack 12-16-2008, 05:45 PM Peterson, probably not. I would want someone younger. But from 1989-1997 KC was consistently a good team. Something Vinny and Snyder have not done in Washington. But I don't know what made them "the model franchise" or one of the top 5 in the NFL During that period of time during Marty's tenure as Head Coach KC went 104-65-1, that is a strong accomplishment for any team. During that time they were a top 5 team. Being a winner for many years is a major accomplishment. While it does not come close to winning a super bowl, you have to give Carp Peterson credit for hiring the coaches and drafting the players that made up that team. redsk1 12-16-2008, 07:35 PM Not that I want Carl Petersen as our GM, because I do not. I would venture to say that record is probably top 5 in the nfl during that period. Granted, no SB's but give him some credit. Not that i would want Peterson, but it amazes me some would be so quick to say no, yet defend VC and his 8 year track record here. Defensewins 12-16-2008, 08:00 PM That's a pretty good run. Regardless of what Vinny has done, I'm just not all that impressed with what Peterson did in his 20 years in KC. One AFC Championship appearance? To me that's pretty easy to say no to. |
