SC Skins Fan 12-15-2008, 12:13 PM Taylor in hindsight was a bad move, at the time I admit I liked it though.
Now I'm wondering what that pick could have been. A starter along one of the lines would have been real nice.
How many picks are we down in this draft now?
1st - Still hold
2nd - Traded to Mia for Jason Taylor
3rd - Still hold
4th - Traded to NYJ for Pete Kendall
5th - Still hold
6th - Still hold
7th - Traded to Min for Erasmus James
So that would make 4 of 7 picks that the Skins still have as of today.
SC Skins Fan 12-15-2008, 12:18 PM Of course, if you want to feel mildly better about the Taylor trade, we can recall that Dallas traded a 1st, 3rd, and 6th for Roy Williams (plus a monster contract). And he may have contributed less in Dallas than Taylor has in Washington (if that is possible). OK, it isn't possible, but 14 catches, 182 yards, 1 td in eight games still borders on useless.

Yuck.
It makes the development of last year's class even more important. Thomas, Kelly, Davis, and Rinehart all better be big contributors next year.

That trade for Williams was laughable. He's not even one of the better WRs in the league. They paid a huge price and it's going to hurt them down the road.

Yep. They have 4 picks for all you "get a linemen" folks out their. So what do we do? Try for Haynesworth for the D-line and draft the #1 spot as an O-lineman? I truely wonder.

They did get hosed on that one, but at least Williams is still pretty young and seems to want to play and have a successful career, whereas Taylor is old and wants a nice segway into the studio.
I'm not all that upset about throwing away our draft picks on veterans though because God knows we'd have just ended up taking a bunch of crappy rookies anyways (only kind of kidding).

I would rather have Williams then Taylor. Williams is very young still and is talented. He will be a NO 1 reciever and make it easier to part with TO. He is new to the team and they have lots of offensive weapons so he wasn't going to come in and take over this year.
Say what you want about Parcells, but he has proven that he can build a team and if he didn't want Taylor then there was a good reason. He was just lucky to find Vinny who couldn't help himself. Of course the way we draft, maybe not having the second round pick will just be less misery we have to go thru after this years draft and another wasted top pick.
freddyg12 12-15-2008, 04:48 PM I hated the high price for Taylor, but when the deal was made I thought it was decent & that there was a change JT would have something to prove.
He actually looked good yesterday, but for the most part Evans has been better. That's a lot of $ & a 2nd round pick gone. Hopefully Vinny can trade out of the first to get a 2nd round pick like last draft.
wilsowilso 12-15-2008, 04:49 PM You have to give Dan and Vinny credit for being consistant ,,, 2 picks for Loyd , 2 for duckett , 4 for JC , 3 for Rocky , 2 for M. white , 2 for Kendall and 2 for L. Coles .
We only gave up one pick for Kendall. Doesn't change the fact that Vinny and Dan are complete idiots.
doughtydoubter 12-15-2008, 06:34 PM yeah screw this trading picks for old vets stuff....it DOESNT PAN OUT. Has there been one wiley old vet weve traded for that has truly been worth it?
