Maybe it's just mental masturbation but how wonderful would it be to add Peppers and Haynesworth to our line. Right now we have the potential to clear about $24 million in cap room which should be more then enough to sign both of them a top tier free agent lineman like Gross and resign Hall and Rogers to long term deals with low cap numbers in 2009. Especially with an uncapped year on the horizon. God I know it's highly unlikely but Haynesworth would give us a huge push up the middle while Peppers would give us someone big enough to play the Left side and get after the passer.
Man I really have gone crazy.
Not Crazy, highly hopeful maybe though. Haynesworth would definetly be #1 on my FA list.

i think he couldnt get it goin in Jacksonville because of personell...they had severe secondary issues (Rashean Mathis also injured later in the year). I think our D would have flourished if we woulda kept his system. BRING EM BACK! BRING EM BACK!
The WHOLE coaching staff would be in jeopardy if i was owner.
And i believe the team needs to stick to coaches for several years to get a good feel. But i dont believe we found our guys this season. So how can you be cohesive? I say...
Cowher- Head Coach
G Williams- D Coordinator
Zorn- QB Coach (solely for the Development of Campbell in `10)
This is so unrealistic, do you really believe that could be the coaching staff next year?

They've had a rough year all around in Jax, I wonder if Del Rio could be next.
I would bet a paycheck that Del Rio gets canned. Jacksonville was supposed to be in the thick of the SB hunt this year. They lost all those linemen early and BAM!!!!!!

True, although some say that he changed, or at least tempered, his abrasive personality during his years with Gibbs. I think even Williams himself has admitted as much.
I doubt Williams will return here, but it's not entirely out the realm of possibility. In fact, I would say I wouldn't at all be surprised. He still has a tight bond with the players. Contrary to popular belief, he and Snyder get along fine and if Zorn were to be let go (which I think is probably at around 80% right now) then there are only a couple of coaches out there who Snyder could go after that would be able to mitigate, to some extent, the pr damage that would be done if Zorn was not the coach next season (whatever the reason may be).
Cowher baby Cowher!!!!!!!!

Campbell is released after '09 if Zorn is shown the door. Shoot if he doesn't produce anything under Cowher in '09 he might be let go. Nothing on JC, but not sure Snyder is going to give JC a raise for what we have seen from him thus far, plus Cowher might want "his guy".

Gus Frerotte:
Del Rio signed an extension last year and has a lot of time - - and $$$ - - on his contract. Jax is not anywhere near the top of the NFL in terms of local revenues. Remember, they covered up 10,000 seats in their stadium with a tarp about 5 years ago so they would have a shot at selling out the games. This year, they did not sell out twice at home.
Del Rio may survive because it will be so burdensome to fire him, pay him AND pay someone else to come in and coach the team...

Mudge,
I've heard they might "promote" Del Rio to a front office position and just name Tice head coach.

I actually feel worse for Williams than for anybody within the Redskins franchise. I guess I was one of the few who believed he should have been the HC w/ Saunders staying on w/ total control of the offense. I truly believe Snyder's massive ego got in the way because Williams came across as so confident in his own leadership.
I hope Williams gets his shot w/ a great franchise.
He should have been the HC here. I think he learned from Gibbs on how to manage players, he was quoted in an interview a couple of years back explaining how he had learned. I don't know if he would have kept Saunders as the O.C., but if he had, Collins would have been the starting QB and the offense probobly would have resembled how it was at the end of last season. Maybe even better in the redzone with Saunders calling 100% of the plays.
