Please fire him. While I believe Zorn is a good football guy and should have a roll somewhere in the organization, I haven't been overly impressed with anything he's done as a head coach. I think he is what he is, a quaterbacks coach. Draftees Thomas, Kelly, and Davis all have talent that was underutilized and/or not developed. Davis in particular. Zorn said he was dumb, basically. I don't know what the guy scored on the wunderlick test, but this guy was the top tight end coming out of college and a good coach would find a way to get some production out of him.

I think the 6-2 start we had this year was residue from the Gibbs regime. Moreover, we're still pounding Portis into submission and throwing that bubble screen to Santana Moss. We should have come out in the no-huddle offense with 5 wide against Baltimore. Maybe try throwing to setup the run. Cooley made the pro bowl last year, in this offense he has regressed. Sellers has also disappeared in this offense until recently.

Agreed, but Zorn does need to earn back the trust of the locker room, which he has been losing a bit lately. His candor isn't so refreshing anymore
All part of learning to be a HC. He comes from a strong coaching tree and he'll adjust. C'mon let's have some Kool-aid...LOL

Here is somethign else I have thought; would it not be great fun to be Dan Synder and sign up for a under cover screen name here? Oh the fun you could have.
I'll bet he's lurking somewhere here.

???????????

I am very disappointed with Zorn's play calling, utilization of personnel, clock management and decision making but dont think he should be fired. I think a lot of things from this article were taking out of context also.

We could've said the same things about Gibbs. No way in hell was he getting fired.

I've been away from the DC area since '98, so maybe I've lost touch, but who the hell is the Examiner anyway. Sounds to me like some clown trying to get some cheap web-hits. I hate articles like this. Who are the "sources", the janitor, JLC, someone with an agenda? Who knows?

"Redskins Park sources are also pondering if the team’s 1-4 collapse to practically ruin its once sure playoff chances could also claim the coach.
Examiner columnist Rick Snider writes that sources say Redskins coach Jim Zorn's job hinges on how the team finishes the season. “The honeymoon is definitely over,” said one team insider of Redskins owner Dan Snyder and Zorn."

IMO this is all pure crap. Firing Zorn would be the absolute worst thing Snyder could do. He would be "Al Davis East" if he lets Zorn go after what should be considered a successful season with what Zorn and Blache had to work with. I think Buges and Hixon will probably be replaced but Zorn, Blache and their people will stay.

The sources gotta be JLC. JZ/DS gotta be shaking their heads about rumors and people trying to stir the pot

Take what Rick Snider says with a grain of salt. He has pretty openly stated in the past that he looks for ways to make Snyder look bad (he's much worse than JLC in this regard).

Another insider says Snyder and some players are upset that Zorn hasn't taken as much blame (even if it's not necessarily his fault) the way Gibbs used to do. But he's likely to get at least one more year with the team. But there could be massive changes with the rest of the staff.I think there needs to be major changes with the rest of the staff. Zorn needs to delegate responsibilities better, but he also needs to do so with coaches he trusts more. Basically, it seems like anyway, that Zorn gives 110% in preparation every week, but whatever facet of the game he overlooks we simply get outcoached in.

I think that the assistants need to do a better job, or if they aren't allowed to do anything, save Snyder the costs.

One, I think the rumor is nonsense. Two, if it is true, who in the hell would ever want to coach here? Maybe Jim Fassel. Is that what folks want? NO way a good coach comes here to have his reputation ruined.

These last three are crucial for the team and for Zorn. Really a pity that this is just when Samuels goes down. Yes, the offense has been weak. But we've played Pitt, Balt., NY giants, and Dallas. All have good Ds, and really Balt and Pitt are the top, IMO. Let's see how we fare against Cincy before we condemn Zorn and his system to the flames!

 what has happened to the new long time mindset?

has anyone heard the VC show, I am sure fans are calling him asking about it and CP's comments.

I would start with a new Special Teams coach, promote Jerry Gray to DC and let Blache retire, also replace Hixon.
