What All-Time Redskin QB was most dominant?charlielyons 12-08-2008, 08:53 PM since we are all in debate as of late about the QB situation or lack there of in Washington. who does everyone think was the most dominant QB in redskins history and why hagams 12-08-2008, 09:11 PM According to 30% of the people on here, Colt Brennan. jamf 12-08-2008, 09:17 PM Cary Conklin Beemnseven 12-08-2008, 09:20 PM Historians would say Sammy Baugh or Sonny Jurgenson, but I never saw them play. In my lifetime it would have to be Joe Theismann -- a consistent, season-after-season threat that you could always count on. Since then, Mark Rypien in spurts. In 1991 he was dominant. But apart from that year he was far from consistent. This franchise hasn't had much luck at dominant quarterbacks. Not many franchises have. SeanTaGodsSafety 12-08-2008, 09:21 PM Gus Ferrotte. He took that hit from that big defensive...wall. DynamiteRave 12-08-2008, 09:42 PM Sonny. Or Sammy Baugh. He was like the old school Colt Brennan. :laughing2 SBXVII 12-08-2008, 09:45 PM I'm glad you said "most" in your question cause I really don't think any were dominant. All had a low QB rating and most were never top draft choices. It seemed either Gibbs or whoever he had training them did an excellent job with them. Other then that Kilmer or Jergenson. htownskinfan 12-08-2008, 10:11 PM Theismans been the best that Ive watched,I think Brad Johnson could have been another if Snyder wouldnt have screwed that up skins6 12-08-2008, 11:37 PM Joe T. backrow 12-09-2008, 12:37 AM Kilmer or Jergenson. Don't get me started on the Sonny vs. Billy debate. There was no comparison. Sonny was hands down a better QB. Kilmer was a converted RB with a noodle arm. Always threw wounded ducks. Sonny could flat out tho' the ball! (Sonny's words!) Never saw Baugh, but he must have been special. No other QB we have had since Sonny could flat out throw it like Sonny! He never dominated because he was always playing from behind. We had some poor defenses. Ryp was very good during that one magical year we won the SB. Almost dominant. |
