Some more news on the injury front-

I've mentioned before I have a friend who is a part time trainer for the Redskins. He's at Redskins Park every Monday helping in the weight room / training room. He told me Horton looked like he was in a lot of pain with his shoulder injury, and that Geisenger is done for the year with a torn meniscus. Shit.

Hopefully this is what will make Vinny Cerrato wake the hell up on draft day when it comes to the offensive line.

That is true.
I think it's funny how most everyone on here knows how bad our O-Line is. But when it comes to giving your opinion on Samuels all of a sudden he's the one of the best in the NFL!?? Why is it just because he happens to be our best offensive lineman. That automatically makes him one of the best??
Sure...He's not fully to blame for our offensive line meltdown...we could go into pages of threads to cover that topic. But he sure doesn't appear to be a leader for the line either. If you look at where most of the pressure has come from you will see it's generally from his side. Due to he's either getting over loaded or he just simply let the guy get around him. At times you can see he appears to not be playing to the level he should/could be. Not to mention he's highly penalty prone.

I've actually noticed much of the pressure coming from the offense's right side.

Silver lining. - I guess Reinhart wasn't as far along as they wanted or hoped he would be. Based on what I had heard it was questionable whether he was going to be able to start for us next year anyways. Now they need to get him in there and get coached up. Nothing like game experience to fast foward the learning process.

The fact that Rhinehart is something of a bust makes me think the FO is just shitty when it comes to scoping trench talent. When we needed at least one very competitive back-up (behind an aging line) the FO takes a kid from AA ball, and to boot takes him several rounds before the scouts had placed him. Really, really discouraging. Some have pointed out Rhinehart was sort of a project - that's very nice if you've got a stockyard full on talent but not when you've got jack shit behind the starters. For that matter, we just needed to aim for another starter to begin with. I hope the FO can vastly improve itself for the upcoming FA market and draft.

Who says Rhinehart is something of a bust.

I saw this posted in a comment on Redskins Insider today.

Miami's 2008 Draft (Parcells knows how to shop for groceries):

1st round: Jake Long - OT
2nd round: Merling - DE
3rd round: Langford - DT
4th round: Murphy - OT
6th round: Thomas - OG
7th round: Dotson - DE

After a 1-15 season last year, guess who the most improved team is this season? Granted Pennington is a big part of that, but The Tuna understands what butters the bread of successful NFL teams. The trenches baby.

Sorry....not going to convince me. I've watched him closely since we got him. Came out of the gate strong but since signing him in 2005 to the ridiculous amount of $47 million +$16 million signing bonus he has been mediocre at best in his position.

Considering that Derrick Dockery got the same deal as an inferior guard, I don't know how you can possibly complain about Samuels' salary. It's an absolute bargain for a Probowl LT. Perhaps it is true that he's overrated, many have made that point, but who would you suggest replacing him with? My guess is that you are like a lot of other people on here who criticize any player on the team who isn't "elite," advocating cutting them without considering that you have to, you know, replace them with someone.

I think we are going to come to appreciate big Chris a little more over these last three games.

Did anyone know that Miami's right guard is Ikechuku Ndukwe. He was on our team, originaly and went to the Ravens and they released him. Now he is starting for Miami.

I don't know if you spelled that right, but good for you if you did.

I found out that he was playing when I looked at the Dolphins roster to see how many of those picks were starting and found half were. Pretty plain to see Parcels theory on how to build a team. Thanks for bring it to light GMScud.
