redsk1 12-08-2008, 10:34 AM I'm sure I'll catch some sh**, but JZ has got to be dangerously close to losing this team. Sorry for the cliche, but the offense looked like they'd rather be elsewhere last night. At least show some emotion or fight. I didn't see it.
It wasn't just me Madden kept eluding to it as well.

Yes, it would have been nice to have seen some emotion. Every time they showed Campbell, Zorn or Randle-El it looked like they were more concerned about staying warm than cheering on the defense.
skinsfan69 12-08-2008, 10:56 AM I don't know if calling rollouts is the answer. Zorn bails out the offense with so many perfectly timed screens and draws. I'm not sure how much more imaginative we can be with the playcalling. If we can't execute simple one cut routes properly, I'm not sure that we could execute any sort of gadget play either.
With that said, Zorn seems to be fighting himself on decisions the whole game. He can't even decide whether he wants to let the clock run out or run some sort of bizarre 30 second offense. The challenge he made, while ultimately helpful to the cause, was just a bizarre decision. He punted in opponents territory with a minute to go in the 2nd quarter and one yard to gain...while we were getting shut out!
Jim Zorn is maybe 9th or 10th on the list of reasons we lost today, but he definately did not have a good game.
The screens are a total waste of time cause there are a million guys lurking around the line.
The thing that concerns me with Zorn is we've now seen the Steelers, Cowboys, and Ravens come at us with very similar blitz schemes and each game it's like he's never seen this stuff before. How many more overload blitzes does he have to see before he adjusts to it??
SouperMeister 12-08-2008, 12:01 PM Honestly I don't care what he says as long as he works on fixing the problems. People always get their panties in a wad over the pressers. People hated that Gibbs always took the blame and never threw players under the bus, now people want Zorn to take the blame, hilarious.I want Zorn to take his share of blame when appropriate. Expecting Greisinger to pass protect against Terell Suggs with ZERO help is asinine. I don't want to hear about lack of execution on a play like that when it was clearly Zorn's decision to put us in a bad matchup.

How many more overload blitzes does he have to see before he adjusts to it??The bigger question for me is how many hits does Campbell have to absorb before Zorn adds additional help to protect the passer? The 2nd half of the year, Zorn's protection schemes are reminding me of Spurrier's when Patrick Ramsey was getting killed.

Sorry but when its that cold out its their job to keep warm so they are ready when they have to go back out onto the fied. Thats why they have heated benches and heaters on the side lines. Cold handed QB's and WR's does not make a very good combination.
prinzeofmoval 12-08-2008, 01:50 PM I really can't blame him all that much. I would love to point the finger but John Madden says it best. We have a good team not an elite team. We can beat good teams but not great or elite teams.
diehardskin2982 12-08-2008, 02:13 PM From what I've seen in the 6 losses we were outcoached. Our offense is noninovative, and shall we say Spurrier-esk (not adjusting to provide the pass protection and running plays for his team). Players that have been drafted to fill a need can't seem to get on the field or in some cases activated. Under Joe Gibbs we would have never ran out of lineman! That was insane!! You have Fabini, Rinehart, Davis and James not active while Tyron, Jackson, Fincher, and Brennan are in. That doesn't make any sense. Then he doesn't play argubly his best player on the team because he hasn't practiced and he forgot about him?
Lastly I listened to the Raven's defensive players in the post game and Reed stated that they had figured out their offense... how can that happen with a first year coach? I think Zorn is seriously overwhelmed and his coaching like a rookie player has hit a wall... what do you think?

I think he's trying to make a point. Did we see any communication b/n JC, CP, SM, ARE, & the offensive line? Did we see any "rallying the troops" by our leaders? It looked like someones mom died over there.
