I still don't understand how a team goes from 6-2 and very hot, to horrid in all three phases of the game.

Well during that 6-2 run I believe the Redskins won games by a very few points, including games against inferior teams.

Did it look like Taylor was jogging lightly in pursuit of Flacco?
