JoeRedskin 11-25-2008, 11:08 AM Much as I am a traditionalist and will always have hatred in my heart for the Cowboys, there are few things that give me greater pleasure than seeing the Eagles lose. I hate Eagles fans - I enjoy watching them wail about their team (the only team in the NFC East without a Superbowl victory).
Their current debacle with McNabb/Kolb and Andy Reid has given me great joy. Normally, I would worry about bad sports karma when wishing terrible things upon opposing teams but this is Philadelphia - their fans are in such a karmic hole that it's probably good karma to wish bad things for them.
I am looking forward to listening to all the boo birds on thursday night. I will revel in the misery of eagles fans. I said a couple years ago that their window was closing - looks like it's slammed shut.
Not sure where they are going after this year, but I am pretty sure that Dec. 21st will be McNabb's last appearance at Fed Ex as QB of the Eagles.
Yes, definitely.
But then again I wasn't expecting much out of them this year. I really didn't understand all the hype and how they were supposed to be so much better than the Skins.
firstdown 11-25-2008, 11:33 AM Karma you just opened the door for them. Lets beat them in December and then laugh at whats going on with their team.
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 11-25-2008, 11:35 AM I actually respect Reid and McNabb and believe that Philly fans are clamoring for the ouster of two of their best assets. The trouble in Philly runs far deeper than those two. Their two offensive tackles are as old as dirt, their right guard has serious psychological problems, and they have NO weapons outside of BW. McNabb has been awful lately, but I'm don't think he's the main problem in Philly and if Philly fans think Kolb is going to bail them out they are delusional.
But, to answer your question, I'm loving it.

Generally, I agree. But for once, just once, I want the chance to gloat before AND after a game. If any set of fans deserves to suffer through that, it's Eagles fans.
SGG - I agree with you. Reid/McNabb are not what they were 4 years ago, but they are still the Eagles best chance for success. To watch the Eagles fans tearing them apart just makes me laugh.
I reserve judgment on Kolb 'cause the last time I blasted a new QB (Eli Manning) he ended up winning the SB. I let Kolb's actions speak for themself, for good or, hopefully, ill.
dmek25 11-25-2008, 11:53 AM im with you Joe. being real close to Philly, and listening to their egghead fans, makes it all the more sweet
SouperMeister 11-25-2008, 11:54 AM I don't dislike Philly the way I dislike Dallas. Philly fans are obnoxious, but the team is actually palatable for me.
It would have been much more satisfying for the Skins to ruin the Cowboys season two weeks ago, but when do we ever slam the door on a rival's season when they're down? We let the Eagles back in the playoff hunt last season when we couldn't take care of business at home, and we could have buried the Giants to 0-3 last year and blew a 17-3 halftime lead AT HOME. I'm more concerned about the Skins taking care of their own business than taking any pleasure in Philly's demise.

I think McNabb has been over-rated his entire career. He ahs always been an inaccurate bad decision QB. He used to make up for it with great athleticism but now either he is too stubborn to rely on his legs or simply can't.
I think the organizational problem is one that we may see in NE soon. They were one of those teams who were supposedly so much smarter than everyone else. Whatever move they did was "brilliant". But if you look at their personell handling a lot of their moves OTHER TEAMS got railed on for handling in the same way. They threw players under the bus consistently, low-balled their good players, fooled them into "taking one for the team" money wise. But what happened was no OUTSIDE players ever really wanted to go there. They were stuck with hoping they could draft well and hoping to be able to keep those guys. I don't think Free Agency is the total answer but you do have to be able to utilize it and they basically never did. Now their drafting has been suspect and their team is old and they suck more by the game.
firstdown 11-25-2008, 12:01 PM The whole Reid decision to pull McNabb was just strange. Did he really think that their back up could come in a lead them to a win against the Ravens D. The score was 10 to 7 at the time so its not like Eagles were out of the game. Then Reid sends his QB coach over to tell him instead of being a man and doing so himself. Now this week he say's McNabb will start because he gives him the best chance to win.

I agree!!! The Skins always give other teams new life (very strange). We need to TCB and beat the Giants this weekend.
