Is anyone else enjoying the Eagles implosion?

I LOVE the Eagles implosion. Ever since they lost the Super Bowl in 2004, every year we get to hear how they're the best .500 team in football, or the best non-playoff team in football, rah rah rah. Could it be that maybe they just aren't that good? McNabb has been a .500 QB since 2004, and their lack of a running game despite having Brian friggin Westbrook is just despicable.

How about in the tie with Cincy, they threw the ball 58 times and Westbrook only got 14 touches? WTF??? Or how about the fact that in the 2nd half of that game they failed to convert three different 3rd and 1s on three incomplete PASSES? The playcalling stinks, the coaching is bad right now, and the fans are worse. This team is in the gutter and I love it.I highlighted the best line I've come across in this entire thread. The Eagles are what their record says they are - a .500 team since the 2004 Super Bowl that has been living on their prior reputation. For whatever reason, the media overrates them EVERY year since then, and they flat out just aren't that good.

I hate this thread. It seems everytime we have one of these threads we loose to that team. This is one time I perfer to be wrong. When we play them they will be playing the spoiler game and its allot easier to play spoiler with nothing to loose then when everything is on the line.

Don't look know but the Eagles have the same # of wins and few losses than our B & G. I actually would bet Philly has a better record by the end i.e. we will finish dead last in the east as the experts/analysts predicted. Philly is going to come into Fed-Ex in a couple of weeks looking to f us up bigtime. SanFran is playing better football than us. Maybe we get a W against Cinci but i wouldn't bet on it at this point.

Goat:

You beat me to it. I went looking for this thread to bump it up to the top and found that you had already noted the team records for the Eagles and the Redskins as of 12/7/08.

All those dumb Philly fans who want to dumb McNabb and run Andy Reid out of town on a rail are so much less sophisiticated than the Redskins' fans who:

1. want to bench Jason Campbell in order to play "whoever".

2. line-up like sheep to vote more than a dozen Redskins to the Pro Bowl - - as if more than 2 actually deserve to go.

3. routinely seek to run the GM out of town on a rail.

Fact is that neither the Skins nor the Eagles are all that good and neither will probably make the playoffs.

Well, this thread sucks now.

That's exactly what I'm thinking now - wish I hadn't brought this up :(

The Beagles are inconsistent as McKnabb has been. Unfortunately he's playing well now.

Earlier this season, I watched the Redskins beat the Eagles in their stadium wearing a Redskins jersey and carrying two Redskins signs. Seeing us win was great.

I'm always more interested in us playing great football and crush the Eagles than hoping they'll sink faster as we spin lower in the toilet bowl.

The Eagles draft linemen every season whether they need them or not. We need to do that also.

I don't dislike Philly the way I dislike Dallas. Philly fans are obnoxious, but the team is actually palatable for me.

It would have been much more satisfying for the Skins to ruin the Cowboys season two weeks ago, but when do we ever slam the door on a rival's season when they're down? We let the Eagles back in the playoff hunt last season when we couldn't take care of business at home, and we could have buried the Giants to 0-3 last year and blew a 17-3 halftime lead AT HOME. I'm more concerned about the Skins taking care of their own business than taking any pleasure in Philly's demise. So much for Philly's demise. When all hell appeared to break loose after their debacle in Baltimore, Andy Reid was a steady hand, and they've had back to back impressive wins against teams that clinched division championships with 3 games left (Arizona & @NY). Gibbs was also a steady hand in turbulent times - it remains to be seen whether Zorn has that talent as a head coach. The Skins got help with Dallas and Atlanta losing, yet did nothing to take care of their own business.

Karma you just opened the door for them. Lets beat them in December and then laugh at whats going on with their team.

Well this thread does look dumb now and I thought so back on the third post.
