Feels good to get back in the win column. I liked what I saw out of Kelly today (but I think I can officially say now my pre-season prediction of him leading NFL rookies in receptions this year is out the window), and I was pleased as well with Alexander's (not Shaun) effort. Shawn Springs is such a good defensive back, if only he played more often.
Anyway here goes, let's lay the smack down
Red Zone Offense I mean it's great for my fantasy football team that Suisham is getting field goals, but I'd rather we get some touchdowns. I think we tend to get too cute down there, just pound it! Ironically though, I think what will most benefit the red zone/short-yardage offense is when someone, probably Kelly, develops as a viable red zone threat to draw more attention to the defense.
Special Teams I wish we had drafted Josh Wilson
Ladell Betts :eek: :doh: :madani::benched:
London Fletcher I don't want to lay the smack down on him, because he's been great since he arrived. But for the past couple of games he just hasn't looked that good. 'Sup wit dat?
Please note: Sheriff Gonna Getcha will be taking over Smack Down duties for the Giants game.
Santana Moss: That BS is not acceptable. Fortunately you were bailed out two plays later.

Suisham Missing a FG under 45 yards is a bit unacceptable. Plus he had a few short kicksoffs (fielding the kick above the 10 yard line). We really don't want another case of the John Hall syndrome where you come to the team with a good leg and leave the team a goat. Hopefully he can get that leg strength and accuracy back.
Jason Taylor and Andre Carter: You guys are a liability.
JT is lost as a linebacker and Run stopper. If he can't get pressure or stop the run, why is he playing?
I thought carter was playing ok but as soon as Evens and WIlson got in the game we were able to get pressure. They need to see more snaps. JT is a pass rush specialist, atleast thats what we've been told, He should not be there on running downs.

Clinton Portis leads the NFL again in rushing! Props to him and our O-line! Much props to SELLARS!

Fletcher looked pretty good out there today. The D line was getting man handled. We really need Montgomery in there.

he was short on that kick too. you'd think an nfl kicker can get enough distance on a 43 yarder.

Seriously. Wilson brought more to the table than Taylor or Carter it seemed. I'll wait for Tripp's analysis but at this point we need the best players we have on the field. Evans is a monster against the run and Wilsosn seems to make plays. I'd rotate them in pretty good from here on out. Shit I'd rotate the whole damned line. We have 7 linement who can play NFL football. There's like 12 different combos there not counting moving guys to opposite sides. Use them all. Move guys around. Make them guess where to run. Mix in blitzes like we did today. Keep them fresh.

Big props to CP. Best running-back of '08 - maybe MVP.
The defense is now making me nervous (still not as much as the offense does). We couldn't stop the run half the time today. Probably missing Anthony is part of the answer. London not playing at his best is also part of the equation. But I suspect much of it has to do w/ Taylor and Carter as others have suggested. I wonder whether Blache will really mix things up now i.e. Evans the 1st and 2nd down left end and Wilson or possibly Lorenzo at right end. Evans is clearly the best run stopping end on the roster - has to be in there on 1st and 2nd down or we're gonna get destroyed by the G-men.

I'm also wondering why Fletcher hasn't played well since the bye week. Hopefully it's a just fluke.
Betts' fumble was unacceptable, but he did have a nice powerful TD run when Portis was shaken up in the first half.
And I think we definitely need to get Chris Wilson on the field more. He had 4 sacks in 4 games last year.
