nothing wrong with shedding some light on good guy deeds. lord knows we get enough negative stories from the press

Great point. . . but Romo still sucks!

I'd bet we can find a TON more stories about Redskins players doing great/nice/respectable things off the field than Dallas players with criminal records as long as Snyder's bank statements.

Do we go to a Cowboys fan site and post them up? No. Why? That would be stupid to do.

I remember last year this time + 7 days, it was Dallas Cowboy fans (not Giants, certainly not Philly) who were the FIRST to step on Warpath to offer their sympathies and condolences after the death of Sean Taylor. They posted his picture on their fan website. It's the class of this rivalry, so for that, I say let 'em post an article once in awhile about their team. Puh-leeze, we'd all be warm & fuzzy too if Chris Cooley helped an old lady cross the street. Fans get off on stuff like this.

Alright, kumbayah moment over...check out this archive. Hang on at least 'til 3 min, 40 secs. It's what I want for Romo (sorry old poor man at the movies), what I hope for our pass rush, how loud we fans need to be!)

i,m sorry DBOYZ that was touching to say the least....it,s great to hear players giving back.....

Hey guys I know it's a redskins board and we love to trash talk the other teams player and everything but I read this report on Romo and I wanted to get away of football for a second and show you the human factor.

The other things that makes Romo truly great; this is the second story that has came out of romo this year and on both ocassions he did this things without reporting it to the media or anything it's just the way he is I'm sure there are more but those stories are the ones that the persons being help by him have reported.

Nice post. I don't have a problem with it. It's better than talking about Pac Man and his drama. How many of us would get out of a car and change a strangers tire or let a homeless man hang with you at a movie theater. Romo seems like the kind of guy I'd want my daughter to date.

Nice story, but like Matty says it's not an uncommon story. I think we can cut D'Boyz a little slack though. He's not like those weak Cowboys fans who only show up when it's convenient to them and run and hide when the Cowboys lose to the Redskins...Bunker Jane, I'm looking in your direction.
I have no problem with that D-boys is relatively stand up.
Perhaps....D does not get that Romo the Homo is a.....how to be tactful.....
IS A F.... COWBOY!!! and therefore, tainted....FOREVER
And as you point out, these stories are part of of life and to be rewarded or recognized for things you should do anyway.....is silly. I do however give him props for the movie thing with the street guy. that one's past me.

Shit like this happens everyday. Yawn.

I agree Matty, but the reality is that this is big news for the Boys because of all their other 'characters' on the team. I wouldn't be surprised if Jones himself leaked this to the paper to try and get some good news and feeling about the Boys to try and get people to forget about the fact he is giving Pacman another shot.

I'm not sure why a homeless dude was trying to go see a movie, though. I took my kids to see a movie a couple weeks ago. $10 popcorns and $7 sodas turned it into a $100 affair pretty quickly.

If I can't afford it as a family with 4 sources of income, how the hell does a homeless guy justify it? Dude you need a home. Stop spending your money on movies! That's why you're homeless!

The story says he was cashing in change. So I don't know if that means he really wasn't going to the movie, but he was just turning in coins for some bills. Not sure if this is the case, just how I interpreted the story. And not sure if Romo then bought him a ticket for later since it says he took a rain check or if the homeless guy actually paid to get in once he realized it was Romo. None of this was very clear to me. I mean the guy could have bought his own ticket to go see Romo and Romo really didn't do anything for him.

I reread the story myself and you have a point. It doesn't say that Romo actually bought the ticket for the guy. Looks like he just ran over to the consignment shop, asked for the day off, ran back over, bought a ticket and sat with Romo.

Okay, you let a homeless dude sit by you. Let me applaud you for that, but people do that everyday. (i.e. try taking public transportation)

It is kind of funny how he asked for the day off from work so he could go see a movie with Tony Romo.
