CRedskinsRule 11-10-2008, 11:19 AM I wonder if that discussion included telling them that Torrence was the most likely to be waived. 724Skinsfan 11-10-2008, 11:29 AM I wonder if that discussion included telling them that Torrence was the most likely to be waived. It probably went along the lines of... Vinnie: "Hey Griff, London, we're thinking about dropping Leigh for some other CB. What do you guys think?" Chorus: "Effin A!" Vinnie: "Don't you want to know who?" Chorus: "Does it matter?" *Actually, Torrence wasn't all that bad in my book given his role/salary. But I'll take the prospect of what Hall could be for this team over what Torrence already is. skinsfan_nn 11-10-2008, 01:26 PM Posted at 12:15 PM ET, 11/10/2008 Hall: 'This Is the Place for Me' From Jason La Canfora: DeAngelo Hall said he chose the Redskins over other suitors because he is from southern virginia, and grew ip dreaming of playing here. He said he hopes to have a future here well beyond the one-year deal he signed. "I just kind of feel like this is the place for me," said Hall, who said his release from Oakland was based solely on his contract and not his conduct. Hall also said of the Skins: "it came down to what team do I feel like I have a future with." Hog1 11-10-2008, 02:25 PM Hall did an int with Doc, and Kevin a little on 980am a little while ago. It was great! He took his poison for his alleged sins of the past. He handled it well, said he wants to prove people wrong about him and hopes to have a long term future here, and best of all..........he said.....I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET THE COWBOYS!!!! HTTR!!!!!! LandrySlice 11-10-2008, 05:11 PM I like D Hall, I bet he works out good for us! He will take some time, but I like the depth! Ruhskins 11-10-2008, 06:03 PM Exactly. Its a bye week, so of course this is the only thing to get worked up about. But as nervous as we all have been to see Torrence on the field in pressure situations, won't you be a little more comfortable with Hall in that same position? All the talk about how much the guy has been picked on this year overlooks one small thing, he was playing opposite the best shut down corner in football right now in Asomugha. I think the most telling statement came from Arthur Blank when he said that Hall just needed to grow up. Well, getting cut from Oakland and having the opportunity to play for the team he grew up wanting to play for may be the spark he needed. He's 24, he's been on top of the world (2 Pro Bowls) and through adversity. He's probably our 2nd most athletic corner right now, with Springs physicality making him numero uno. ProFootballTalk.com - BLANK SAYS HALL NEEDS TO GROW UP (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/11/08/blank-says-hall-needs-to-grow-up/) It'd be career suicide for D. Hall if he doesn't play well here. He has the chance to be a 3rd/4th string CB with the opportunity to play as much as a 2nd/3rd string CB (due to injuries). Whether he stays with the Redskins or goes somewhere else, he needs to prove himself on the field. I think Hall has been humbled by this situation, going from being worth picks and big $$ to being waived and having to play for almost the vet min. CRedskinsRule 11-10-2008, 07:00 PM I suppose I am showing my rookie stripes with this question. How will the continuity factor be impacted by Hall replacing Torrence? I mean setting aside any locker room factor, how hard will it be say for Landry, who is used to Torrence, and knows about how he would react in a given situation, now to play around Hall's strengths and weaknesses. I do remember Trotter and Arrington often ending up in the same spot on the field (right or wrong). How long will it take for the secondary to adjust to Hall's reactions? 53Fan 11-10-2008, 07:48 PM I've seen an interview with D. Hall and one with Carlos. I liked what I saw. I've been hard on Hall but that's because I've seen him from highschool to the pros and in-between in college. I wouild like nothing better than to see him play up to his potential. Right now, there is probably no better place to get it together than with the Redskins. Our coaches and our PLAYERS I believe, are well-equipped to handle anyone that would become a distraction or put himself above team. He is fast on top of fast and 24 years old. I hope he has matured and plays well. What an AWESOME defensive backfield we will have if he does. Lotus 11-10-2008, 08:02 PM Hall wears #23, having bought it from Doughty.
