Some people do this; the problem is that some tickets are a 400% mark up over the original seat cost. A season ticket holder could essentially pay for his season tickets by selling 2 games.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

I have season tickets. Trust me it is only possible to break even if you sell a set one game at a time. Besides the huge games most other tickets fetch less than face. And the reason the big games get so much money? OTHER TEAMS FANS ARE WILLING TO PAY IT. Firstdown had it right. All the people complaining need to be going to stubhub and buying the tickets. Until then, zip it.

Please read my previous post and answer the questions then.

Edit. These tickets are listed for $265 to $750 each. When you get the tickets in the mail the cost on the ticket itself is $99. So who is cashing in? I bought 2 tickets from stub hub for the Dallas game with no parking pass. Section 101, which is LL 50 Yard Line. The price listed on the 2 tickets themselves was $99.00 or $198.00 for the 2 them.

I paid 1,130.00 for 2 seats after Taxes and S&H on stub-hub which was actually about $100.00 per ticket less than those who were offering Parking passes as well.

Now my question is do season ticket holders pay face value for the ticket or is that print on the front of the ticket BS?

This is good to know because I just reserved my seats for next season. All I have paid is the reservation fee (100.00 per seat so far). I am under the impression that I pay a fee which is a little over 2 grand for the 1st season on top of the face value for each seat. After the first year I just pay for the face value of my seats...Right?

Disclaimer: I have stated before that my uncle has season tickets and that he sells his every year and buys better seats. Sometimes I attend games with him, but in no way were those season tickets ever actually mine... Just in case somebody tries to pull the old "I thought you already had season tickets" bit.
We pay face value, on the front of the ticket.... but we also pay the exact same face value for two preseason games and at least 4 games a year that fetch less than face. A $99 dollar ticket will run $1040. Seeing as 2 games of the year are worthless and AT LEAST 4 games are worth maybe 3/4 face(being generous) that means to sell the other four games and break even someone has to sell that $99 for 173.25. It just doesn't happen. The people who drive up the prices are the opposing fans to the big games. If our fan base went to more games then it wouldn't be a problem. It isn't the season ticket holders at all. Blame those who aren't season ticket holders (and could be) but still complain.

The Dallas game is the exception to the rule when selling tickets but when I couldn't go I sold mine to a friend for $100 each (that was about my cost). The price on the ticket is the price paid by the ticket holder. When I had my tickets I paid ticket price, taxes, and some handling cost which was not that much. I don't know what that 2,000 is unless your getting one of those packages that you have to pay for something besides the tickets. The one deal I saw like that you have to pay that every year to keep the season tickets.

Now I kind of see where you are comming from. It still doesn't make sense as to why I paid $1100 for 2 $99 tickets. In reality that guy damn near paid for his season tickets with that 1 game.

I am basing this off of what I remember reading when I put my name on the list 6 years ago. I thought that it read something like 2,000 (plus or minus) for the first season only and the cost per ticket. After the first season it was cost per ticket only.

That is just what I remember from the reading (6 years ago) I could be wrong or mistaken though. All I know is that I reserved 4 seats for next season; I have paid the refundable $100 per seat, and I requested lower level. We will see what happens.

Did you shop around for tickets or just found the seats and paid what they were asking? If you purchased the tickets way in advance they knew they could lower the price as the game got closer. The Dallas game is one that people know they can sell their tickets so they can hold them longer trying to get top dollar.

You will probably get uper level because people who have had season tickets are waiting to get lower section. They get the first offer and then it goes in order from there. So you would be last on the list for people wanting lower level, but its a start. If you were just on the list you should not have to pay that 2,000 your talking about. For upper level it averages out to cost about $100 to $125 per season game depending on you seat location.

If you watch those tickets on stub hub you will see them dropping in price over the next few days. The best place to find tickets is craigslist a couple of days before the game. Thats only true if you live in an area where ther are alot of season ticket holders. This is what I see here in our area and these will drop alot as the game gets closer.

I bought them 2 weeks in advance and I purchased the lowest priced ones located in the section that I wanted to sit in from Stub Hub. I did not shop around on other sites, maybe I should have. On the other hand I feel more confident purchasing from stub hub than from an individual seller from something like "craigs list". With all of the fraud and scams these days I like to purchase from a trustworthy source even though it may be a tad more expensive.

Well why can't the people on the waiting list go to Stub hub and buy the tickets themself?

Your missing the point with my statement. You have to protect the integrity of your venue. If only people on the season ticket waiting list have a shot at the game then opposing team fans can not get them as easy. Stubhub allows any fan to get the tickets and the majority of the time I bet they do go to the visiting team. Was anyone on this board at the Pitt game? Probably not because it was 60-40 Steelers to Redskins. It was quite possibly the lowest point of Fed Ex field history.
