...what kind of surge in motivation do you think we might see from the Eagles? I think they are going to feel quite a bit of pressure coming from the fans, and the coaches will have some good bulletin board material. I just think this might have an effect on them; although, I'm not really concerned about them catipulting ahead of us.

I don't see what the Phillies winning is going to do for them. The key for them is a healthy Brian Westbrook, period.

I disagree. If anything they will have less pressure now that the city of Philadelphia has gotten over the "no championships in almost 30 years" hump.

To be honest, if the Eagles' players and coaches are paying that kind of attention to another team from another sport, they aren't doing their jobs properly.

Now that the Phillies have won, I don't want to hear a lick of baseball until next August/September.

Let me preface this by saying I'm a big Braves fan and this years WS stunk. Late TV times, one after 10pm, bad weather and a TB team that never got going. I didn't get to watch any ending besides last night. MLB has got to start some of these games a little earlier IMO. Maybe 7pm?

I'll usually watch the postseason even if it doesn't include the Braves. I like watching playoff baseball, but when i know that I've got to stay up until midnight or later I'm uninterested. Some of us have small kids that wake up in the middle of the night and limit the amount of sleep we get. So staying up til midnight, one am is just not doable.

Bad WS.

I agree it was a bad WS. But I don't think the 7pm start times will ever happen. What about people who aren't in the Eastern time zone? It would hurt viewership if games started at 4pm Pacific. Less viewers = worse ratings = less advertising dollars = no way they change the start times. But being an east coast resident myself, I would love it if the games started earlier. With all that said, they do need to change something, because this World Series had one of the lowest ratings ever.
