I think Hall voters need to stop ignoring the contributions of special teams players. It's just ridiculous that someone like Ray Guy can't get a sniff of the Hall. B-Mitch is definitely deserving based on his overall play. The guy could do it all.

By Peter King's logic, Shannon Sharpe doesn't deserve it because he was surpassed by Tony Gonzalez as the all-time yardage, receptions, and TD leader.

Without doing the research I'm just not sure about Jesse Armstead. Sure, a solid player, but HOF worthy?

A case could be made for him. He's a 5 time Pro Bowl player and his stats (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/ArmsJe00.htm) are pretty solid. In his prime he was one of the better players at his position. I doubt he would get in but his resume is quietly better than some might realize.
I thought only five get in each year.
There is no set number of new enshrinees, but the Committee’s current ground rules do stipulate that between four and seven new members will be selected each year.

Surprised not to see Dave Butz anywhere on that list.
And if you go by numbers alone, Gary Clark deserves to be in -- especially when you consider the paltry numbers of Lynn Swann.
Still no sign of Chris Hanburger. :pffff:

How about Ken Harvey? 89 career sacks vs 40 for Armstead. Tackles similar. They played in different systems but were comparable in value I would think. Harvey is a 4 time probowler. As we all know, PB's are alot of name and who you play for.
