The sad part of this farce of a campaign is that they seem not to know what the words terrorist/terrorism mean.

Maybe it's me. I really feel like McCain would be a fine President -- but he's old and Palin scares the shit out of me. I really think I'd rather have Tina Fey running our country than her.

Whats pathitic is the Dems here in Va are not allowing allot of the absentee ballots to be counted because of a state law. The issue is that the state requires the adress of the witness but the federal rules do not. If someone requested a federal ballot it does not have a place for the witnesses adress and only has a place to sign. It does not make much sense that stae rules would supersed federal regulations but as it looks right now the federal ballots will get thrown out. Va has a ton of military so the majority of ballots getting canned will be from military serving over seas.

Firstdown -- the thing is, states are typically decided before absentee ballots are even counted. I've already voted via absentee ballot (I went to the registrars office and voted there) but really, you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. Secondly, the electoral college is a terrible system. We need to make every individual vote weigh the same. We have the technology to do something like that now. Every person in the nation should have their vote count -- you think a democrat in the mid west cares about voting? A republican in New York?

The problem is that small states would never have any say in how the country is run. The people running for office would ignore smaller states and spend all of their time in states like NY, cal. etc... I do think its a big deal beacuse VA could be a very close state and how would you feel knowin while serving this country your vote got canned after you filled out the form sent to you correctly?

firstdown -- Why should a 'small states' have their votes count more than those in a large state? Right now the candidates only spend time in states they consider battlegrounds states. It's no different. It would just change slightly where they campaign to more urban areas. I don't understand why someone in a 'small state' should carry more weight per vote than anyone else. I think my vote should count the same as anyone elses, I just don't understand any reasoning behind making votes all count towards a popular vote. Small states are correctly accounted for how powerful they are -- not very in the grand scheme of things.

How in the hell can you say, with a straight face, that someone who bombs an abortion clinic because of ideology is not a terrorist? That's pretty sad when you let rhetoric and far right pandering get in the way of common sense. Is it so hard to answer the question with a simple "yes?"
