Winslow was in the hospital for a week and they didn't check up on him. Yes he IS a man and should be able to take it, but you can't blame him for not feeling like part of the team from that. They fined him for saying that, pretty much proving him right that they don't have much respect for him.
Bad situation for the team and Winslow.
Maybe they'd treat him as part of the team if he could stay healthy and actually be around, but fining your player for such a statement is also ridiculous.
Isn't he the player who missed his rookie season because he hurt himself popping a wheelie on a bike?

Winslow IMO, has a right to be upset the organization was telling him to keep his staph infection secret. he also wanted to tell everyone because werent there rumors going around that he had inflamed testicles LOL? If people were saying that about me I would want to clear it up.
Seems like the Browns are trying to trade him, wonder if they will get any offers.
Exactly. Winslow is a bit of a drama queen but he is 100% right on this one and he should take this to the commish. He gets suspended for telling the truth? Phil Savage looks like a little bitch on this. Total BS.

I don't know if you guys remember, but the Redskins had the same problem a few years back
Blitzing Microbial Infections - washingtonpost.com (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/02/AR2006080201938.html)
I remember it. Some guy we got from Dallas...I forgot his name, he was on the d-line. Didn't it end his career?

The last couple of years he has put up some big numbers while playing hurt and Clev. did not re work his contract.

IMO there should be a league mandated standard for every team on prevention of staph infections. They are so dangerous. That 7-7 center for UNC Asheville just had part of his foot amputated due to staph, and it ended his career and nearly killed him in the process.
I saw a special on TV one time on staph prevention in team locker rooms. They literally have teams of people come in and spray every inch of the locker room/weight room/showers with some super duper anti-microbial stuff like once a week. I know the Skins do it now, as should every pro and college team.
As far as Winslow, to suspend him for this is BS. Maybe a fine for running his mouth about the front office, but a suspension is dumb.

this is one in a long line of problems between winslow and the browns.according to nfl.com,the browns tried to trade him last week.he has made mistakes, but what kid does'nt?he should feel free to speak what he wants without worrying about it.i think the browns are just showing how pathetic and prissy they have become.
I find it hard to feel bad for KWII on anything. The Browns were wrong in trying to cover this up no doubt. But for him to get fired up because one guy (GM Phil Savage) didn't call him when he was in the hospital... I say boo effing hoo.

i don't feel sorry for him,i just think the browns did an awful job of handling this.since this problem is popping up in locker rooms all over the league,i wish the league would get involved in this for christ's sake! this is some serious medical issues for people to be ignoring!

I believe they over reacted, but remember we almost drafted this guy great talent but immature.
I'm pretty sure he figured he'd be a Skin also. So did everyone else when I was watching the Draft. I recall when Sean was selected, one of the commentators said something like...The Redskins just got their answer to Jeremy Shockey....something to that effect anyway. Damn, what a shame Taylor's gone.
