Browns suspend Winslow one game without payjohnerotten 10-21-2008, 10:58 PM does anybody else here think that all the staph infections passed around in the browns locker room is kind of high?that's the issue nobody's talking about. vallin21 10-21-2008, 11:14 PM The infection doesn't seem that high, unless you're part of the browns organization. hooskins 10-21-2008, 11:52 PM Winslow IMO, has a right to be upset the organization was telling him to keep his staph infection secret. he also wanted to tell everyone because werent there rumors going around that he had inflamed testicles LOL? If people were saying that about me I would want to clear it up. Seems like the Browns are trying to trade him, wonder if they will get any offers. djnemo65 10-22-2008, 12:03 AM It does seem absurd to suspend him for this. The house is on fire and they are looking to take it out on anyone they can. BleedBurgundy 10-22-2008, 01:49 AM The Brown's facility was built on a landfill if memory serves. The recurring staph infections have been an issue there for years. The team brings in specialists to kill all of the bacteria every offseason and the same problem comes back. Not exactly an enticing proposition for free agents. deathGRINDx 10-22-2008, 04:15 AM Huge overreaction. obviously with all the staph infections.. something is really wrong in cleveland. they should seriously reevaluate their medical personnel. Kellen Winslow was drawing criticism for not playing and always being hurt and this "mystery illness", and the fact the browns tried to hide it to cover themselves is extremely irresponsible. is upset that they are actually suspending him for this. anyways, i wrote about it in the blog i recently started. you can read it here if youre interested. Worthless Opinion - Home (http://worthlessopinion.squarespace.com/) johnerotten 10-22-2008, 07:58 AM i'm wondering if the league's medical staff is looking into this?are the browns the only team that uses the stadium?are there college teams or high school teams that use it? that needs to be looked into! SmootSmack 10-22-2008, 08:14 AM I don't know if you guys remember, but the Redskins had the same problem a few years back Blitzing Microbial Infections - washingtonpost.com (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/02/AR2006080201938.html) johnerotten 10-22-2008, 08:41 AM the browns need to take the steps the redskins did with the UV lights and retraining employees on the ways to stop MRSA before it kills somebody.my daughter's boyfriend got it a few years back when he was a senior in high school,it damn near killed him. i'd hate to see anybody else get this and die from it.i hope the league takes notice. irish 10-22-2008, 10:09 AM I remember quite a few years ago Greg Lloyd from the Steelers got a staph infection from a dirty needle the Steelers used on him. He almost died from this infection (remember how one game he was a beast and the next he disappeared and never came back) and the Steelers were incredulous when he spoke out and sought compensation for their neglect costing him his career. He did get some $ but not before the Steelers smeared his name all over Pittsburgh. These teams will always over react because its big business. Winslow was right in saying the Browns treated him like a piece of meat because they and all the teams treat the players like a piece of meat. |
