What's with running a reverse with Fred Davis? I thought the idea was to give that play to someone with just a tad bit more speed.
I t may be just me and the commentators but I thought he was going to throw it. It's not a bad idea really, because nobody expects your TE to throw the ball. They just shut the play down too quickly for him. for all the criticism, the Browns defense isn't all that bad.
I agree about the pass rush, but I suspect we were building O in this years draft and looking to next year to pump up the lines on both sides of the ball. The current record may well be something of a bonus to the organisation who I think were looking to next year to get competitive. IF we can pick the right players up in next years draft, imagine how much better we will be? Right now we need Taylor to get his groove back.
As to the passing game, I think Campbell is being deliberately careful and trying to avoid mistakes. Am I alone in thinking I wouldn;t mind seeing him make a few more throws down field and risk the INT?
With how close some our games have been, it would make no sense to risk throws down the field. An INT here or there and we're probably 4-3 or worse.

The defense was very good. One concern, though: The second no-turnover game in a row by the D. I hope they start creating them again like in Weeks 2-5.
Being at the game I can see why there were no turnovers. The Brown QB was so off the mark most of the game that nobody on either team could have caught his passes. Also, the score was low so it was obvious they were tryimg not to force things.

Not quite, remember the Jackson fumble in the game against the Rams?

LOL the new punter is definitely pretty chunky. His stats weren't great but he did a nice job at pinning the Browns back. Good pickup.
Maybe he can double as a guard 6th OL?

Everyone should be at least a bit concerned by yesterday's game. That game should have been cake if you look at it statistically, but it was very close. The D is fine, but again, very few turnovers thus far created this season. I rather have the D give up a bit more ypg if it meant getting 2-3 turnovers for our offense. Can't believe with our firepower we can't get into the endzone as of late against weaker competition.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but I have yet to see an angle that shows Portis clearly breaking the plane on his TD run. Is it just me or did he not get in?
I was very surprised there was neither a challenge by the Browns nor any discussion of this by the commentators. As I recall, the run came on first or second down, so we would have had at least another shot had a replay clearly shown that he didn't get it. But I did not celebrate that TD in my living room until Suisham drilled the extra point--I was convinced the red flag was coming.

I'm not sure Romeo C. is all that aware of what's going on out there at times. Also, why didn't he kick the FG on our 4th down stop? Whatever. Nice to see the other sideline goofing it up.

Ya I would like to see some more sacks. I can't believe Horton whiffed on his blitz. That was pitiful. He had a clean lane and shot at Anderson and took an inside path for some reason like Anderson is some speed demon. Anderson easily sidestepped him.
Hopefully we will get more sacks, thou our DL was a concern going into this season since we never really addressed it in the offseason.
We addressed it, and felt it was fine until the first two hours of TC. Then Taylor was brought to town. We would have had a couple more sacks out of the DL if Anderson had held a fraction longer and hadn't tossed into the dirt. So the dirt helped a lot yesterday!

If you're relying on your punter to tackle the runner, then you're already in a world of hurt.
Very True.
