There is no denying that the amazing Portis carried the offense today.
But the defense won the game and London was everywhere. I vote Fletch.

Redskins vs. Browns MVPLotus 10-19-2008, 11:01 PM There is no denying that the amazing Portis carried the offense today. But the defense won the game and London was everywhere. I vote Fletch. GMScud 10-19-2008, 11:02 PM My game ball should go to Carlos Rogers but he would drop it so I'm going to give it to portis, who already has his drop for the day. Hahaha. Really though, if he could hold on to INTs he would be all-world. itvnetop 10-19-2008, 11:36 PM Fletcher was all over the place, so I gave it to him... with Carlos a very close second. I'm all about our D this season. RMSkins 10-20-2008, 12:18 AM I had to give it to London Fletcher. He was all over the field today and he's clearly the heart of our defense. I would've giving it to Portis if it wasn't for that damn fumble that nearly cost us the game. RedskinRat 10-20-2008, 07:49 AM I would've giving it to Portis if it wasn't for that damn fumble that nearly cost us the game. That play was more a great defensive play by CB Eric Wright of the Browns rather than being a poor play by Portis. Portis was getting ready for the hit from a linebacker coming in from his left side. irish 10-20-2008, 08:39 AM I vote for the D. The O wasnt doing anything and the D found a way to keep the Browns from scoring and give the Skins a W. Monkeydad 10-20-2008, 09:13 AM Portis easily. If we had a separate Defensive MVP, it would be Fletcher who had a great game, but you can't vote against 175 yards and a TD. BDBohnzie 10-20-2008, 10:14 AM Buster, I did...and while Portis looks like a running back possessed, I went with Fletcher. 12 tackles (7 solo), including a huge flying stop on the Browns 1st 4th quarter goalline set. The defense set the tone yesterday, and they were led by #59. hail_2_da_skins 10-20-2008, 10:55 AM PORTIS -- however our D is now officially deserving of some serious props -- we are a top 5 defense no doubt about it .. all I ever hear is how good everyone else is, well what about the freaking skins' ... i mean we stop them 7 times out of 8 at the 3 yard line .. are you kidding me ... HB Blades deserves a nod too, one of those goal line stands he might a lights out hit .. HAIL -- now let's beat the piss out the lions next week .. we need to stomp them by 4 touchdowns ! The Skins defense is not getting the headlines because they don't get the sexy defensive stats (interceptions, fumble recoveries and sacks). All they do is shut down the opposing teams running game and passing game. Look at the quarterbacks and running backs they have faced and kept under wraps. These are some of the best players in the league. Impressive stats. Week 1: Eli Manning 19/35 212 yds 0 tds 1 ints Brandon Jacobs 116 yds 0 tds Week 2: Drew Brees 22/33 216 yds 1 tds 2 ints Reggie Bush 28 yd 0 tds Week 3: Kurt Warner 16/30 192 yds 2 tds 1 ints Edgerrin James 93 yds 0 tds Week 4: Tony Romo 28/47 300 yds 3 tds 1 ints Marion Barber 26 yds 0 tds Week 5: Donovan McNabb 17/29 196 0 tds 0 ints Brian Westbrook 33 yds 1 tds Week 6: Marc Bulger 15/26 136 0 tds 0 ints Steven Jackson 79 yds 0 tds Week 7: Derek Anderson 14/37 136 1 tds 0 ints Jamal Lewis 80 yds 0 tds CrazyCanuck 10-20-2008, 03:45 PM I'm gonna go with Rogers, Fletcher, Blache and the entire D. They woulda had my game ball last week but Torrence f*@%ed it up. Portis was a beast but it's time our D gets some props. They are the reason we didn't lose the last 2 games. |
