Waste of a draft pick, Please. We've seen in the past 3rd and 4th rounders not make the roster or stay around for a year. They took a chance on what was suppose to be the best punter talent in the draft and it hasn't worked out so far.
I have to disagree. Brooks most likely would've went undrafted and I thought he could've been had as an UDFA instead of spending a 6th rounder on him. If memory serves me right Brooks was the only punter drafted this year.

This guy is a horse compared to Brooks. 6'3" 252Lbs and also a Ray Guy award winner in 2005. We'll see.

So you don't consider it a waste when the PUNTER we drafted doesn't make it half way through the season?
Hell, it was a waste to draft him, let alone draft and cut him.
You don't agree?
Considering it was in the 6th round, no. Think about it, how many 6th round picks pan out? Let alone punters?
Was it waste? Maybe.....but we hear about 6th rounders getting cut all the time.
When the Broncos spent a 3rd round pick on Maurice Clarett.....thats what you call a waste.

Are we putting Brooks on IR or outright releasing him?

Sure, there are different degrees of waste, but a waste none the less.
Still stupid to pick up someone who would have been on the open market after the draft.
Will it really matter? No. It's more of a shot at VC. I'll get over it.
I find it hard to call a 6th or 7th rounder a waste. Those are the type of picks you can gamble with.
Horton hasn't turned out too bad eh? I think that cancels out any "waste" factor with Brooks.

The funny thing about Horton is that I could argue that Horton is playing as well as Brooks was supposed to.
