Since we are cutting people.
We need to cut or bench Torrence. I'm tired of this guy. Every time I see this guy I think of the highlight of Moss catching a TD over his head. I know Moss is arguably the best receiver. But, I can't remember him doing anything positive. Ever. And as we all know he gave up the big play to the Rams rookie WR. If Smoot was it wouldn't have happened. I know its not all his fault but if he learns how to turn his head (a very basic skill most cb's in college posses) around then we might be complaining why we squeaked out a win to this horrendus team instead of losing to them.On review, he was actually in perfect position to defend the route, unfortunately Bulger just underthrew the ball, putting his WR in the best position. Torrence played it by the book and still lost.

If Landry had stayed deep, this isn't even an issue.

Thank you. No roster fire sale necessary. Torrence is blazing fast and his technique continues to progress (albeit a bit slowly). Cut him and what? Throw Tryon in there? No thanks.

Just a thought does anyone think that Matteral Richardson (http://www.redskins.com/gen/players/Matteral_Richardson.jsp) would be and upgrade over Torrence. If Tryon can break the roster he should easily be able to as well. I thought he was our third best corner in the preseason and was upset that Tryon got a spot only because he was definitely a draft pick because he was outperformed by Richardson.

This thread is freakin stupid as hell. Let me ask you something. Is it impossible for you to give credit to Avery making a good play on the ball? Also Blache said someone missed the blitz call which gave Bulger extra time to throw the ball down field. Or what about Taylor or Carter not getting any pressure in that situation? You just can't go around cutting people cause they screw up. Sometimes the other guy just makes a better play on the ball. The Rams players get paid too. But it shouldn't even have come down to that. We beat ourselves on offense by turning the ball over.

Looked to me (also) that Landry got there just a step or two late, otherwise this would have been a sure INT. Torrence was def in perfect position and in the bigger picture he has improved vastly over last year IMO. He has learned how to cover (Lord knows he has the speed for it), now we'll see if he can take his skills to the next level and play the INTs.

That play was a bust because we got no pressure Bulger - give half the QBs in this league that much time and they're going to complete a pass. We need Torrence to step up his game but we also need the DL to get in there.

Watching it live, I really thought Avery pushed off, but the replay shows that he just adjusted quicker, giving the illusion of pushing off.

At no point during the play was Torrence further than an arms length from Avery.

If anything, Springs should have been on the more explosive deep threat and Torrence should have been on Kennison. Again, I'm not sure that changes anything.
